The day of the flight to HK. In a way it was executed with militarly discipline. We all woke up at 10:00AM and we had already packed so there was no panic this time when leaving. Most of the food was eaten yesterday too. Family checked out and explored the tourist shopping areas in more detail. We bought a few souvenirs for our relatives and then went to the local Boston Pizza for lunch. By the time lunch was over for us, it was around 3:00PM. Fearing that we might be late for checking in because my ticket is a standby ticket, we left. The drive back had a few stops at very nice and scenic areas of the the coast to take pictures. We still got back to Vancouver though quite early (at around 4:00PM). Since there was time to kill, I had everyone stop off at a golf driving range to to practise some more. I killed about 90 minutes of time and $50.
After golfing, we went to the #9 restaurant for dinner and their famous noodles. My bro made a small spectacle about wanting E noodles instead of Wonton noodle, butwe had already ordered when he expressed his change of heart. He ended up liking his original order, and all was well. We then drove to the airport and it was pretty quiet when we got there (around 7:00PM). This was not a smooth check-in because dad forgot where he placed his travel documents, and we spent a few minutes panicking of where it could be. We found it in his carry-on luggage, and that relieved the tension. In addition, there was no booking on whether what we paid for in points was used for upgrading my ticket. Talked to the aeroplan representative of why the 100,000 points acquired over 2 years was just taken and never used >=@ He cleared it up and everything was fixed up. Stopped off at the executive lounge after clearing security, I took a shower, ate a snack, and surfed the web while we waited for the plane to come in.
The flight itself was fairly dull. I watched Hellboy, ate some food, played games for about 50 minutes slept and rested (eyes closed, doing nothing, but still conscious) for the remainder of time. There were no good photo opportunities since all the cities were over on the right side of the plane and not the left side of the plane where I was. Oh well, it's all up to the pilot of the plane right? We landed in HK at around 4:30AM and ran around the airport trying to find the taxi rally point.
