The Indian Spring Hotel was built in 1823 by Creek Indian Chief William McIntosh, Leader of the Lower Creek Nation. McIntosh was also half Scottish. Restoration of the Indian Spring Hotel is almost complete. The building has been stabalized with a new wood roof. We need to rebuild the two story wrap around porches, put a coat of paint inside and out and the restoration will be complete. We have three major fund raisers yearly. Scottish Festival, second Saturday in June, Native American Festival, second weekend in Sept., Butts County Fall Festival, held on the courthouse lawn in Jackson, Ga., the second Saturday in Oct.
