Performance-
Cool Air Intakes-Your engine needs air and fuel to function. When you press the accelerator you are letting fuel and air into the engine. The combination allows the engine to create power. The waste is then disposed by the exhaust system. The more air your engine gets the better it will perform, especially if that air is cold. Now most of us don't want to bother with the cost of forced induction units (turbos, superchargers, etc) so we use the next best thing, a performance cone air filter. A performance air filter replaces the factory air box and allows the filter to be directly exposed to air (the factory airbox has a highly restrictive filter inside). This allows the engine to receive more air, thus you get a better performing engine. Treptech is curretnly in the midst of producing a custom intake for all 2.7 litre chrysler engines. i suggest if you own a 2.7 litre that you buy it from them because they are only going to be producing parts of the highest quality and caliber. You can order them here: Treptech
Throttle Body spacersThe Poweraid TBS concept was developed to enhance mid-range power, torque and fuel efficiency. The unique dyno-proven "Helix Bore" causes a spinning action of the incoming air charge as it passes through the throttle body. This extremely beneficial air-charge carries all the way into the combustion chamber, producing a super-atomized mixture and resulting in tremendous gains in mid-range power and overall efficiency. You can Purchase them here TB Spacers
Trans coolers-&M’s SuperCooler low pressure drop coolers reduce the risk of lube system failure. A controlled amount of automatic transmission fluid (ATF) is allowed to bypass the stacked plate core, passing through a self-regulating orifice, which monitors resistance to flow. Controlled by viscosity, the thicker ATF is returned directly to lube through two open bypass passages positioned in the stacked plate core. As operating temperatures increase, more of the ATF flow is directed through the core. The result is highly efficient cooling technology that combines improved protection against lube system failure with the required levels of optimal heat transfer.
The smallest size and lightest weight cooler relative to cooling capacity you can buy! High efficiency rating allows a smaller cooler to get equal, or better cooling than ordinary in and tube coolers.get your trans cooler here
ExhaustPersonally i would suggest that everyone when modifying there exahust go with flowmaster products. however there are other noteworthy ones such as borla, pace setter, and edelbrok. flowmaster has a muffler to fit everyone of you needs from loud to queit. each muffler will give you up to approximatley 4 hp!!!here is what flowmaster has to say: "The famous Flowmaster sound is available in many different applications.
The Flowmaster Sound is the true tone of American muscle and performance. Available in a wide range of domestic and import applications for automobiles and trucks. Flowmaster mufflers produce more power than Original Equipment (OE) and competitive aftermarket products.
What makes Flowmaster so unique is that its performance improvement is paired with our unique exhaust tones. The ìFlowmaster Soundî is offered in many different tones depending upon the muffler series. From the deep, aggressive tone of the 40 Series to a quiet and subtle, but unmistakably rich Flowmaster tone of the 70 Series, you will find the right application of performance and exhaust sound you want." You can buy them from Jegs here is the flowmaster page to help you along your muffler needs: Flowmaster
Nitrous Ahhh yes nitrous something not to be treated lightly. A very effective product if used correctly. lets assume for a moment that currently you have a stock car with few modifications and your looking for serious horsepower. Some may suggest adding a turbo and when some suggest nos others will say "it hurts your engines a whole lot" in all reality nitrous does less damage to your engine then a turbo will if used properly. So back to your car. if youve got about 800 bucks and some free time on your hands check this out. Dodge Nitrous. This is a system Utilizing the patented "Shark" nozzle, these systems are fully adjustable, 35,50,75 horsepower for 4 cylinder and V-6 applications, and up to 150h.p. for V-8 and V-12 cars. These systems require no engine modifications, operate on stock fuel pumps, and require no timing retards. The ultimate solution to make your car a "Rocket". Any horsepower settings above the recommended levels require "NX Power Booster" fuel additive to prevent detonation."if you add nitrous shifting to a higher grade fuel (92 octane) is reccomend to stop detonation.Other company's that supply nitrous are NOS,Edelbrock(basically the same company)and ZEX. ok say your car isnt stock and youve beefed up the internals to be able to handle some serious horsepower. Assuing that you kept compression ratio down try checking this out. It is a race system offered by nitrous express that will boost up to 300 HP!!!!!! here is what NX has to say:The NX Race EFI System is the ultimate answer to meet and exceed the challenges of the modern muscle that may also be "hood clearance challenged" and still produce big power. Available in standard "Shark" single nozzle, with horsepower selections up to 250h.p., or go for all the new "Shark S.H.O." with single nozzle power settings up to 400 horsepower! The S.H.O. is available special order only. NX Power Boost fuel additive required on all horsepower settings over 150. you can buy it here nitrous Express
Air Filters
These filters are designed to replace the factory air filter that came with your car. They fit into the factory air box and are engineered to seal tightly with no air leakage. These filters are made with the same filter media used in our racing filters and put a little bit of performance into your every day driving experience. Our stock replacement filters are backed by our Million Mile Limited Warranty and are emissions legal in all 50 states.
Our stock replacement air filters are washable, reusable and can handle all driving conditions. Water will not damage their performance and with proper cleaning, they will last the life of your engine. And of course, they offer high air flow and that means performance!
Our replacement air filters are designed to provide up to a 4% increase in horsepower and torque. The amount of performance gain varies from vehicle to vehicle based on the overall factory air intake design. The greater the restriction created by the stock paper element, the greater the potential performance gain when you switch to a K&N.
The airflow comparison charts below are for two individual stock replacement air filters sold by K&N. The tests were performed in a dust-free environment on laboratory equipment. Flow comparison results will vary depending on part number, vehicle application and barometric air pressure.
Beyond the Stock Air Filter and Air Box
Addressing the next area of restriction, K&N engineers looked at the vehicle’s air box (the container that houses the air filter) and any hoses or duct work connecting it to the engine. Because the air must first travel through this system before it reaches the carburetor or throttle body, the overall size and shape of the system has a profound effect on air flow. Air, like water, does not like to turn corners nor does it react favorably when confronted by an obstruction such as a sharp bend in a hose or a baffle. In many cases, the air box and/or the hoses and duct work used to create the air filtration system is just as restrictive as the original paper filter element. In some extreme cases, the air box and/or the air delivery system is the greatest source of restriction. The inlet to the air box is a good example. In many instances this opening is one half the cross sectional area of the throttle body or carburetor opening. It would be like trying to run a marathon while breathing through a soda straw.
An original-equipment cylindrical air cleaner box covering a throttle body or carburetor is another example. Most often, these round air cleaner housings are sealed to the outside air. The engine must then breathe through a snorkel attached to the perimeter of the housing. At times the snorkel is fed through a network of hoses and scoops.
To directly address the problem, we introduced a line of air intake kits, the most popular of which is our Fuel Injection Performance Kits (better know by the acronym, FIPK). These kits replace both the air box and the restriction. Our FIPKs vary in design because they are application specific meaning each kit is engineered to fit a particular make, model and year of vehicle. FIPKS utilize a 360-degree filter design which provides increased surface area to promote air flow.GET IT HERE!!!!

Suspension The only known suspension specifically designed for the intrepid is the eibach pro kit: The Pro-Kit is Eibach's premium suspension product and is considered to be one of the world's top performance suspension products. The performance and reliability has been proven in millions of Pro-Kit spring sets sold in all five continents and in over more than 40 countries around the world.
The Eibach Pro-Kit spring system is the first choice for enthusiasts when upgrading their vehicle's suspension, improving both the vehicle's performance and appearance. The Pro-Kit provides, quite simply... "The Look That Performs".
High ground clearance and huge fender-well gap inherent from the factory give your vehicle an unfinished look. Whether you plan to stay with your factory tires and wheels or adding performance wheels and tires, chances are, your car has "the lifted look". In reality a "Plus 1" or "Plus 2" wheel and tire package with a lower profile tire will exaggerate the large gap even more.
An Eibach Pro-Kit is designed to reduce the fender-well gap by safely lowering your vehicle, giving it a more attractive, sportier stance. The Pro-Kit is the perfect compliment to any vehicle, whether in stock form or fitted with a larger tire and wheel package. The Pro-Kit will set your vehicle off from others, giving it "The Look" you want. All Eibach Pro-Kits are designed by experienced engineers specialized in chassis dynamics and are tested by seasoned qualified drivers. They are designed to properly and safely lower your vehicle's center of gravity through the use of proprietary progressive spring rates; reducing squat during acceleration, body roll in the turns, and nose dive under braking. Upon installation, your vehicle becomes exceptionally stable and secure under a much wider range of conditions and will provide years of enhanced driving pleasure, whether you are twisting your way through a mountain pass or cruising down the interstate or tempting the Autobahn.
Vehicles equipped with performance wheels and tires also need the additional performance provided by the Eibach Pro-Kit. Performance wheels and tires create a larger contact patch which increases the adhesion resulting in additional body roll. The Eibach Pro-Kit is designed to control this additional body roll becoming the heart of your performance suspension package.
Pro-Kits are available for nearly every model produced by over 40 European, American, Japanese, Australian and other main vehicle manufacturers out of Korea and Malaysia.
Getting your vehicle to look and perform "just right" is not an elusive recipe, in fact it's down right simple; wheels... tires... Eibach Springs.
Advatanages of an Eibach Pro-kit:
- Excellent ride quality
- comfortable in cruising
- Sportive handling in cornering, resulting in improved performance

This was Created by a user on Dodgeintrepid.net by the name of hypnos with a special thanks to Zaphod,Jcman311,94IntrepidES,ACR,Chastain and Knightmare. Just another reason why dodgeintrepid.net kicks serious ass:
If you have anything you want to add, feel free to PM me. I will not add any electric superchargers or intake resistor mods/chips that you find on ebay. I also will not add nitrous kits/parts, since they are pretty generic and will fit pretty much any car. In most cases, I will not list a mod unless its been done.
Items will fit both engines, unless specified otherwise.
Items highlighted in red should work for 2nd generation LHs as well.
Engine
Underdrive Pulley - $125
This pulley is much lighter and smaller then the stock pulley. Not confirmed if it will work on the 3.3L. Will work on the 3.2L and 3.5L. Will not fit the 2.7L.
Read this before you buy:
http://www.stratusphere.us/forums/i...?showtopic=9316
However, note that not one has been linked to engine damage. My personal opinion has always been that they don't cause enough vibration to do any damage. But thats me.

Chrysler 98-04 3.5L (HO or non-HO) - Various Prices
The new 98-04 3.5L has an alum block, better flowing head, and lighterweight internals, among other things. Its not as strong as a 1st gen 3.5L, but its more efficent and lighter. Using the 1st gen 3.5L lower intake, belt/sprockets/pullys, plenum, sensors, and ECU will be easiest. Expect around 230hp vs the stock 214hp. However, the weight savings is really where you will notice the difference.
Electronics/Chips
Piggy back, and soldered on chips. No one has had dyno/track proven results with any of these (PM me if you would like to correct me).
ASE Performance Chip (96-97 3.5L) - $349
ASP claims a 26hp gain for this chip. I would take that with a grain of salt. But it is probably the best chip out there for our cars.
http://www.asechips.com
JET Power Control Unit (96-96) - $259.95
JET claims 10-12hp. Most people say its junk. I belive it will work on either engine.
http://www.jetchip.com
JET ECU reprogram - $274.78
This is where you send your ECU right to JET and they modify it/reporgram it. Part number 514+0035 on nopi.
http://www.jetchip.com
http://www.nopionline.com - $274.78
Superchips chip (93-95) - ~$300
I belive they claim 16hp, but the chip is no longer listed on thier site.

Chrysler 2000-2004 A606(42LE) Transmission - Various prices
The newer A606s have much better parts then the stock 1st generation trans. For it to work, you have to make some minor modifcations. This includes, but not limited to, changing over the range sensor wiring and dremeling the new drive plate so that the 4th bolt hole matches up. They can be found on 00-04 Intrepids, concordes, LHSes, and 300Ms. Get a transmission from a 2nd gen 2.7L, and you will also get the 3.89 gears as an added bonus!

http://dodgeintrepid.net/forums/sho...&threadid=20525
ACR's Custom 4 or 6 Spring Limited Slip Differential Kit -$300 - $350
Now you too can use the LSD kit that is on the fastest LH on the site. ACR uses the 6 spring in his high 13 second concorde. 4 spring is $300 USD, and 6 spring is $350 USD. Contact him for more info.

Gear/Sproket Sets
These will raise the stock gear ratio. Expect lower gas mileage, but much better low end acceleration. Stock gear ratio on all 1st gens is 3.66. Speedometer will be slightly incorrect, unless an electronic speedometer corrector is installed. Some gear ratios have question marks, because I'm not sure how accurate they are. But they should give you a rough idea.
Prowler Pro Gears (4.97:1) - $1450
27% higher final drive ratio than 2.7L. Comes with speedometer corrector and new chain. Wider then stock gears.
http://www.realrod.com/ppgears.htm
http://www.prowlerpro.com
G-Force Performance Gears (4.94:1) - $1350
27% higher final drive ratio than 2.7L. Comes with speedometer corrector. Uses stock single chain.
http://www.prowler.ca/gears.html
2.7L/Prower/300M special sprockets/gears (3.89:1) - $100-$300
These are similar to the prowler pro gears, but not nearly as radicle. They come stock on the 2nd gen 2.7L, the 300m special, and the prowler. You can get the parts from your dealer. You may need to buy the 2 chain system if you dont have it allready (usually comes stock on the later 1st gens). Your speedo will read around 7% faster then you are accually going.

Igntion system
Parts to upgrade the DIS ignition system. Do not expect a gain with larger wires, unless you upgrade to the MSD system. The MSD and 8mm wires have proven to be a perfect combo. Avoid platnum plugs in these engines. Gold plugs will give you a nice spark, and they will last for a decent amount of time. Copper plugs will also give you a pretty good spark when they are clean. Replace the coppers about every 6k or less for best results. They tend to get dirty fast.
Taylor Vertex 8mm wires (3.5L) - $66.39
Black 74078 - Summit part number TAY-74078
Red 74278 - Summit part number TAY-74278

Brakes
The stock brakes suck. The rotors are small, and the stock ones easily warp after just 15-30k.
Brembo - Drilled And Slotted Rotors - $ 236 (fronts) - $472 (all)
Brembo OEM rotors that are CNC drilled and slotted (just like what iRotors does) by another company. No one has bought these yet, that I know of. They use specs from brembo to dill/slot them.
http://www.brakeworld.com
iRotors Cross Drilled and Slotted Rotors - $135 (fronts) -$249 (all)
Make sure you check and see if you have 4 wheel disk or rear drum before ordering. Combine these with semi-metallic pads, and you will get a big improvment in stoping power. Avaliable for 2nd gens as well (different part numbers).

http://www.tirerack.com - $57 per strut
http://www.kyb.com/
Gabriel Gas Ryder Struts - $259.69
These are suppose to be pretty good too. However, I don't know of any one who accually has them on an LH car. I just recently added them.
JC Whitney has these for about $65 per strut. Autozone carries them as well, but they are $81 per for fronts.
http://www.jcwhitney.com/webapp/wcs...9&storeId=10101
Koni Suspension Sport Rebuild Strut Kit - $629.16
Abolutely as good as it gets for struts on these cars. I haven't found much information on these. Inserts in to the stock strut housing. They are 7 way adjustable.

The Stuff No One Has Tried Yet
Theres are modifications that MIGHT work in theory, but no one has yet attempted.
3.3L to 3.8L Conversion
The only difference between the LH 3.3L and the 3.8L found in many chrysler minivans, is the bore and stroke. Block is the same, but the mounts may be different. Heres what you have to do:
Bore out a LH 3.3L block 3mm over (93 to 96)
Buy a 3.8L rebuild kit with new piston rings, crank, rods, and pistsons.
You can use your old 3.3L parts for the rest.
This will give you about 20ft/lbs of torque. You will get even more power if you use a newer 3.8L intake manifold.
3.5L HO heads and intake
The 2nd gen 3.5L HOs have a more aggressive cam, and higher flowing heads and intake. You will have to either make a new EGR pipe, or seal it off. The 3.5L HO EGR pipe MIGHT work. Getting the 2nd gen manual tuning valve working with the first gen ECU is a big question mark.
