The Best Engines

Nitro Star 12R SS Pullstart
#1627

Our latest Nitro Star engines are a leap forward from our previous designs! Each one of our new engines put out over 1 horsepower, so you'll have all the power you need at your fingertips!

Our new 12R line of engines uses a high-tech Nickel-Silicon Carbide coating that is being used in many high performance applications by companies like Jaguar. The Nickel bonds to the surface, the silicon lubricates, and the carbide gives extremely long wear. The new Carbide coating in the HPI 12R SS and 12R SC engines, you will see many improvements over standard chrome coatings:

This is the rotary carb, nonpullstarter version of our new Nitro Star 12R engine. From the 5.5mm opening to the ABC construction inside the black engine case, this engine is all about speed and power! A tall purple anodized aluminum heat sink keeps everything cool, while the traditional side exhaust routing will fit any Nitro car or truck.

This is a highly advanced, reliable and powerful engine that will fulfill all your racing and hobby needs!

Nitro Star Engines are HPI's Best!

Nitro Star Pro 21R SC Statistics

The perfect fit for your Proceed

The Nitro Star Pro 21R SC is designed in Italy by engine manufacturer Novarossi, winner of multiple world championships with their .15- and .21-size engines. This engine was designed just for HPI, so this isn't just a rebadged Novarossi engine! HPI Racing is the only company in the world to have these specifications from Novarossi.

The Nitro Star Pro 21R SC is an ABC engine, and is made in the tradition of Novarossi's .15 and .21 world championship winning engines. The engine is made with an aluminum case and piston, with a chrome-plated brass sleeve. This is the standard construction for all high-performance engines. A machining process developed from the aerospace industry is used to construct the engines for virtually zero flaws in the metal. The crankcase is vacuum-cast to lessen the probability of defects, such as density voids (spots of low density in the metal which can cause a weak point). The nine ports of the engine are profile cast for perfect alignment with the sleeve, unlike other engines which have the ports machined in after molding.

Resting on special Novarossi-designed ball bearings (patented) is a large 14mm diameter crank shaft, which gives the absolute maximum flow of fuel and power with a minimum of flex. The connecting rod uses a unique double bushing design, and is made from super-competition aircraft aluminum alloy for lightweight strength.

The race-bred slide carburetor is an extremely smooth unit that provides smooth throttle control with a super-fast reaction time! The 9mm opening allows more air into the engine for massive power. The three adjustment screws allow fine-tuning of low-speed, mid-range and high-speed air/fuel mixtures. This is a top-quality carburetor, designed for serious racers!

To maximize engine cooling, the combustion chamber and gray anodized cooling head are a two-piece design. This will ensure that the Nitro Star Pro 21R SC runs cool and efficient, for low fuel consumption and extreme engine power!

The Nitro Star Pro 21R SC comes with a sheet of Nitro Star Pro decals, slide carb, gray anodized aluminum head, and full, easy instructions for installation, break-in and tuning. Be the envy of all your Nitro racing buddies! Get ready for max speed for your Proceed racing car!

Team Orion Wasp .12 Roar

This is the Team Orion Wasp .12 Roar Engine with Slide Valve Carburetor.

FEATURES: Rear round exhaust opening with rubber gasket installed. Slide valve carb insures good on-road performance (see COMMENTS). Crankshaft is threaded on inside for pilot shaft clutch applications.

INCLUDES: One Wasp .12 Roar Nitro Powered Engine with slide valve carburetor, pinch bolt and nut for attaching carb, parts list and instruction sheet.

REQUIRES: Medium temperature glow plug. Tuned Pipe. Header, depends on type and brand of vehicle. Fuel with at least 18% lubricant and 10-20% nitro. Most of the fuels we carry meet or exceed the lubricant content required for optimum performance and maximum engine life. In the past, the conventional lubricant content in fuel was 18%. But with new technologies fuels like Red Alert and O'Donnell for example, have a better quality of lubricants even though the percentages of lubricant are lower. These high-tech lubricants provide exceptional cooling and protection.

SPECS: Displacement: 0.129cu in (2.11cc) Horsepower: 1.45bhp @ 37,000 RPM Bore: 0.54" (13.8mm) Stroke: 0.55" (14.0mm) Carburetor Settings: High Speed Needle Valve: 1-1.5 turns from closed Low Speed Needle Valve: 3-3.5 turns from closed Exhaust opening: 0.59" (15mm) Distance between mounting holes opposite side: 1.24" (31.5mm) Distance between mounting holes same side: 0.47" (12mm) Distance from top of head to bottom of mounting flanges: 2.91" (74mm) Distance from top of head to bottom of crankcase: 3.38" (86mm) Distance from bottom of flanges to crankcase bottom: 0.47" (12mm) Distance from back of engine to end of crankshaft: 3.46" (88mm) Distance between mounting flanges: 1.53" (39mm)

COMMENTS: Some points on slide valve and rotary carburetors. Rotary carbs offer a larger response in the middle of the engine's power band. This is desirable for off-road applications where throttle response must be varied. Slide valve carbs provide greater response at the beginning and end of the power band. This works well for on-road and racing vehicles demanding fast take offs and high speed. JXS 7/25/02 ir/kh

O.S. .15 CV-RX w/10C Slide Carb

This is the OS Max .15CV-R Car/Buggy Engine w/#10C Slide Carb and Recoil. It has the same mounting and muffler dimensions as the regular .15CV. Because of the high performance characteristics of this engine there is No Warranty. This is an entirely new engine and its parts are uniquely designed for it. Nothing is interchangeable between the CV and CV-R Engines.

FEATURES: True ABC construction, aluminum piston and chrome plated brass cylinder liner. Three larger cylinder intake ports instead of two smaller intake ports, add 40% to 45% increased port volume over the original CVs. The third port points directly at the exhaust port, making exhaust scavenging more efficient. More air/fuel mixture with more efficient flow equals more horsepower. Crankshaft is 1mm larger in diameter. This allows for a larger crank port feed and smoother mixture flow. Bearing to crankshaft fit is tighter, increasing vacuum, crankcase pressure and reduced oil discharge from the front bearing. Front and rear ball bearings are thicker and have larger balls inside that are better able to handle the increased loads. Connecting rod is machined aluminum instead of original CVs cast- aluminum rod, and it has larger ends with bronze bushings in both. Wrist pin is held in by C-clips instead of nylon buttons for reduced friction. Side exhaust Slide #10C 2-needle carburettor Black/Silver horizontal 9-fin cylinder head
