Gay Marriage
As a gay man I have never felt the need to fight for the right to marry. Let's face it...marriage is not that attractive. And surely, the divorce rate in America should show us gays something. However, I have come to believe that this has become more than a marriage issue. It has become more than a gay issue.
An American President is attempting to enforce his personal bigotry and hatred upon his nation. He has told a group of his own citizens that we are less than citizens and should be legislated against. I wonder. Does America remember Hitler and the Jews? Or more recently, Sadam and the Iraqi people?
This President has said that because of his personal church borne beliefs a group of his citizens should be denied the right to "the persuit of happiness" as well as being denied equal protection under OUR nations laws.
This president says that we gays should be tolerated. I reject Mr. Bush's tolerance. As should all American Citizens.
Before you dismiss this Marriage Act as a gay issue I ask that you think of one simple question. Which group of citizens will be next? As both Hitler and Saddam have proven bigots do not stop their attacks with one group of their citizens.
