What is a false Gospel and how can we be ready for it?

What is a false Gospel? Well I have heard allot of Christians saying that if some one is preaching and teaching in the name of Jesus and that the message of their preaching centers on Jesus that man/woman is not a false teacher or a preacher of the false Gospel .Well that sounds nice but, that is not the truth. But not every person that uses the name of Christ is a true Christian. The word of God clearly states “though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. Galatians 1:8”

Allot of churches now days preach a totally different Jesus than the Jesus from the scripture. Some say Jesus is Lucifer’s Spirit brother and some say he is Michael the archangel but the truth is that Jesus is God. If any one preaches some thing else than that Jesus is God they are false witnesses.

There are many more false Gospels that are going on in Christian churches and one of them is “salvation by works” Salvation by grace is through the kind of faith that is produced by the preaching of the Gospel or the unsearchable riches of Christ. This salvation is not by works of the Law of Moses or any other works not involved in the blessed Gospel of the grace of God (Ephesians 2:8-10; Acts 20:24). God does not purify us through works but, " he [God] purified their hearts by faith. . . .We believe it is through the grace of our Lord Jesus that we are saved . . . "(Acts 15:9, 11).

For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him. 2 Corinthians 11:4

For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. Matthew 24:24

God teaches that the Bible, the whole Bible, and nothing but the Bible is the true Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ:

For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book. Revelation 22:18-19

This verse shows us that the Bible is the sole authority which defines and forms the basis of the true Gospel. This is why the Bible cannot be added to or taken away from. If we try to add words of prophecy to the Bible, then we have a different authority, and thus a different gospel. If we do not acknowledge a part of the Bible to be the Word of God, then we have "taken away from the words of the book of this prophecy." Again, we end up with a different authority, and thus a different gospel.

All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 2 Timothy 3:16

We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, . . . Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man, but holy men of old spoke as they were moved by the Holy Ghost. 2 Peter 1:19-21

You see, the Bible is one book, and it was written by God Himself. Therefore, when the last verses of the Book of Revelation were completed, then the Bible was completed. Likewise, if anyone rejects a part of the Bible as not being the Word of God, then they are taking away from the Bible.

Either adding to or taking away from the Bible results in a false gospel. No false gospel can save the soul, no matter how holy it appears to be. False gospels always lead to the eternal damnation of Hell. A Christian has to be in the Word daily and we have to have our minds renewed daily in the Word of God and we have to be a member of a healthy well balanced Christian Church so that we can grow and help brothers and sisters in the Lord and also have fellowship with the body of Christ.

When will Satan try to tempt us or lead us away from God? When we do not have fellowship with the Lord and with the Body of Christ that is when Satan’s sees us as harmless and weak Christian. But if we remain in the Word of God and prayer Satan will try but, it will be useless because we will be under the covering of God and our minds will be renewed in the Lord. Just like when Jesus was fasting for forty days and forty nights, (Matthew 4:1-11) Satan came at the time when Jesus was weak in the flesh and that he was Hungry. Satan tried to tempt God but he had no luck because our God is powerful and mighty and most of all he is God. And as you remember from scripture when Satan asked Jesus all those questions Jesus never said anything else to Him but, HE only answered His questions by the word of God.

That is what we need, we have to first of all read the word daily and have sound biblical doctrine and be firm in them, so that when the false one comes we will detect it and refuse it and expose it in light of scripture.
