THE TASMANIAN TIGER-WOLF (Thylacine)
Description:
- Shaped and sized like a big dog.
- Has stripes starting from 1/2 way down the back and extended to the tail.
- Brownish base color with cream colored belly.
- It is a marsupial carnivore, not a mammal.
- The female has backward facing pouch to carry it's baby and the male has a
pouch to protect his testicles.
Diet:
- Farm animals (sheep).
- Small forest animals (goats, dears).
How it became extinct:
- Extinct due to competition from dingoes.
- Killed in large numbers by sheep farmers.
