I had a lot of leadership challenges in my previous high school. Got elected out of many candidates the environmental club president. I went on to becoming an executive member of the Junior Achievements club, Drama club and the Ghana United Nations Student Association. In my last year of high school my fellow schoolmates and teachers elected me school prefect and vice-president of the sex awareness club. I was very involved with the community in which I lived and schooled by donating blood and by cleaning up hospitals and orphanages. I joined the cheerleading club to take away some of the stress I go through everyday with the challenges that come my way. The Scripture Union, a club that organises prayer meetings and counselling sessions for student was also a club I enjoyed been a member of. All these activities and many others I participated in improved my organisational and people skills.
Every single person who knew me thought my academic work would be affected by all the leadership roles I had taken upon myself. But they were wrong, what they all didn’t know was I got involved in extra-curricular activities because I knew I could handle it. Thus I worked really hard first of all because they were so many people looking up to me and also because I wanted to prove everyone who thought my grades would go down wrong. Being a leader and a part of various prestigious clubs made me very popular in school. I learned to listen to people whenever they expressed their opinion. I helped make the lives of other students a better in school. I realised that I am now a very good public speaker and work really well with people.
I was given the Best all round student award after completing high school.
I find that my organisational skills have improved over the years. I acquired the ability to lead various groups of teenagers in achieving awards even though there were many distractions. I am a very patient person who is always willing to work and learn from other people. My involvement in many different organisations and clubs has tremendously increased my ability to organise and take charge of different programs. I have become a better person by undergoing positive and negative experiences and by guiding people to enjoy some of these positive experiences.
