Dogpatch has expanded our home so that we are able to welcome more dogs than ever as guests.  The dogs must be housebroken and socialized. We specialize in large dog care with soft spots always open for  the very young or the very old companion. All types seem quite happy once they arrive here. Our day generally starts early in the morning with a romp in the park-like setting of Dogpatch.   There is human companionship for most of the day, and constant attention from our three-dog welcoming committee. We often take field trips in our own personal kennel on wheels, the New Woof Mobile for dogs.  Some week-ends we all load up and head for the Oregon Coast to feel the sand between our toes. The boarded Guests always join in the fun when the Party Van comes to Dogpatch Tuesday-Thursday.

Dogpatch Resort caters to select pets.  We Now have a fenced play area, but even so, the dogs are not left unattended.  Our dogs serve as guides for the newcomers, teaching obedience daily.    We love puppies here at Dogpatch, however we do charge extra if they are not housebroken. (a few accidents are okay, but it's a little extra for the very young, as they usually need a midnight walk) Those are the only add ons at Dogpatch  Otherwise everything is included (including the tip for the towel attendant at the pond). We treat frequently, hug often, and praise liberally.  

We offer a great alternative to the conventional kenneling. Your pet is treated as one of our own, although we honor requests for stricter guidelines.  (we realize that not all homes follow the rule of the first to the couch gets it for the evening, and to that end we will honor requests that the dogs keep all four paws on the floor)  Our family is current on all shots and we ask that all of our guests stay current also. Because we often take field trips we use and recommend advantage flea and tick control, or a similar topical method.  All dogs sleep indoors.  Kenneling is not mandatory although if they jump on the bed, or howl at the moon all night we do put them in "time out beds" so that everyone gets a good nights rest.  They are loved, pampered and  played with almost constantly. Generally they are treated as one of our own family. We realize how hard it is for a family to go out of town and send their best friend to doggy-lock up. For the discerning owner, we are the perfect alternative to kenneling.

  We ask that all guests bring their own food, preferably portioned correctly to keep diets consistent. Please send only the correct amount of food with your pet as we have limited storage.  Any extra food is not returned.  Twice monthly we donate it to the local shelter. We have an adequate supply of beds toys and dishes for all. I cannot guarantee the return of toys or bedding because of the free-for-all atmosphere at our Resort.

  We have been training and caring for dogs for the last twenty years and are quite comfortable with any of the special needs that senior and spoiled dogs sometimes expect. This includes medicating and special dietary requests. Again, there is no extra charge for this.

 References from both canine and human sources are available on request.    Our rate is $30.00 per day, with a minimum stay of 3 days. We also offer half day rates for departures before noon and arrivals after five. We also now charge a $15.00 fee for each stay no matter the duration to cover the Woof-Mobiles expenses. This fee is waived if I pick the dogs up or drop them off from our Playdays.  Families are more than welcome to come visit our home to see where the "kids" play.  I offer "meet and greets" on most Mondays by appointment. We prefer to pick all dogs up as well as bring them home. This gives us a chance to introduce the dogs to the current "pack" with no territorial or protective issues. Also it helps me to schedule reservations with the least amount of disturbance to the dogs that board here. We try to work with your schedule but ask some flexibility.  We do not offer Sunday arrivals or departures.

All dogs are required to undergo an evaluation day before boarding for the first time.  The cost is a one time fee of $50.00, or in lieu of that they are welcome to be picked up in the Party Van on Tuesday Wednesday or Thursday by appointment for $30.00.  This ensures that the Dogpatch experience is pleasurable, non-aggressive and safe for your pet as well as for our other guests.
