We are using the following books for Rules not ammended on this site, and Character Creation:
Rules on teaching disciplines, only in-clan disciplines can be taught from each clan ex: Bob is Gangrel and teaches a Ventrue Protean, the Ventrue cannot teach Protean to anyone else.
No whining to the MST about what another person did ICly. If you have a problem with what happened ICly, deal with it ICly. Continued interactions as thus will be considered Crossing, aka Cheating or just plain poor player etiquette. Unless it is a valid complaint of another mun taking OOC information IC, otherwise, hush and be still, my children.
There will be a character limit of 3 per player. Unless you are a specific venue ST (ie MST, Garou, Mage, Changling, Kindred) running NPCs specifically for the perpetuation of storyline. And those NPCs will be controlled ENTIRELY by the MST. See combat concerning multiple characters.
NPCs are common as Retainers or such. Note that an NPC retainer is generally allowed to be run by the player of the character the retainer 'belongs' to, but also, the retainers are at best(in the vampire venue) Ghouled or Mortals without a clue their master is a vampire. In other venues, Personal Assistants, yadda, but no supernatural creatureness to them. They also have minimal interaction. They don't sit in rooms alongside your PC and interact as a normal character would. NPCs that are of supernatural origin are left to the Venue STs and their assistants.
Communication with outside chronicles is accepted as long as the player in Vegas goes by Vegas rules. If you are in another Chronicle, you follow theirs. Experience gained in another chronicle does not apply to your character sheet submitted in DiV, automatically. This must be brought to the MSTs attention. Double dipping is looked down upon. Be prepared to show work for experience earned, as well as your other MSTs contact information.
We are not responsible for your character sheets. Yes, we keep them. If you don't like the formats provided, come up with another sheet that's in an acceptable format. Vampire Generator is not acceptable. MS Office version is to be 97. Anything newer cannot be read.
All Merits and Flaws (that are listed on your Character Sheet) WILL be played out according to White Wolf rules. Merits and Flaws can be purchased or removed at twice the cost after character creation with a valid reason in the storyline and the MSTs approval. A max benefit of 7 points of each has been set.
As you are accountable for the keeping of your experience, your character is accountable for his actions. If you chose to play within DiV, you must be prepared for the good or bad that will follow your participation. You piss off a Garou? That Garou might just hunt you down. With the good, comes the bad. If you choose to ignore it, we will choose to ignore you.
We will also be using the phases of the moons for certain rituals, if a ritual calls for it to be a certain part of the year or month then you must wait.
All rituals need to be logged ex: If your character places a ward on themselves, submit the log to the MST.
If your character wishes to start a club and wants it to be named as an Elysium, please contact the MST and make sure your CS will uphold such endeavors. This also applies for any other establishments. Resources are being watched. You can't afford a Cherry Vette with all the fixings and custom work on Resources 2.
Please refrain from arguing in a Public room. If it is really important move to Instant messages or to a Private room.
Absolutely NO Threatening other Muns OOC , This will result in you leaving the Chronicle and not being welcomed back.
If you leave for an extends amount of time from AOL I will place you on a list separate from the major rankings till you have ample time to return.
The time setting is as followed, 1 week IRL = 1 month online, so 4 months IRL = 1 year online
Elders are brought into the chronicle as more neonates/ancillae are brought into play. Elders are to be played by those who have proven to the MST that they are capable of portraying the characteristics of an Elder properly and consistently. Keeping in mind, that many elders have multiple derangement's, personality flaws, etc. Character sheets, Gens, Ages, etc, are all OOC information. If you flaunt it, it's your error. It is your choice to let out your character information. The MST has the CS. That is all that matters. If you're a neonate saying your Cain, be prepared to back it up. If you're Cain pretending to be a neonate, be prepared to back it up. If you have a character that's been in play, have logs. Have recommendations. Have someone known to vouch that your character has existed. Have an extensive background. Have old chronicles played in. Something solid enough to hold to scrutiny.
To play an elder in a venue, you must have first played a basic "baby" character in that venue.
Characters petitioning for approval for sanctioned play are granted the
opportunity to dig right in, though it should be noted that heavy emersion
into storylines and combat should be avoided. The pending character is a
babe in the woods when it comes to the rolling of die. The effective stats
of a pending character are 1's in attributes and virtues, and 0's all other
places. Disciplines should not be used.
Experience may be garnered upon acceptance into the chronicle, that is to
the descretion of the MST.
Combat rules:
We need some sort of ... Balance. Personally we find it rather nice just to RP it out but sometimes it just doesn't happen that way so there need to be rules in the event of something getting "out of hand"..We only wish to make this as interesting and fair as possible so..
IF there is an ST present, you let them deal with the fighting..
If any questions come up..Turns should be kept, some of us dont' type as fast as others..Or have Power Tools allowing them to flood the room with multi actions in one enter..(Turns is the one rule that will be enforced.)
If there isn't an ST available it should be worked out between you muns..
If an agreement can't be reached and/or no ST is available, pause the scene and E-Mail one of us..You will get a response within 24 hours. This does not mean, after a scene was completed, and you didn't like the outcome, you email at that point and ask for the scene to be re-run. This will not be tolerated or considered acceptable. If you are uncomfortable, stop immediately and wait for the MST.
We realize "pausing" is a pain in all of our collective boo-tay's, so let's remember we are all here because we understand the meaning of fair and respect..Most important though is we are all adults and we can ::gasp:: talk about these things logically..
Multiple Characters:
If you are playing more than one character in a room, which ever is involved in the combat takes presidence. The other will drop off the face of the earth. The other suddenly becomes mute and immobile mysteriously.
Most Combat should be as follows:
We request anyone not involved in the combat to please keep quiet, and no OOC. It just flows better and is less confusing to the commanding ST. Also, if combat starts that requires dice rolling,it will be taken to a PR. In Combat, a round IRL time takes 3-5 seconds. This will allow the main room to continue roleplay. Once combat is resolved, it will be narrated for those still roleplaying.
Inits - Roll to see who the heck goes when. If your characters tie for a reason, match Dex. If the dex is the same, then match wits. If they are the same then reroll. If one person's Dex or wits are higher than the others (Always dex first) then that person will go first, tie or not.
Turns - In your turn, depending were you are, you can use Discs, Fight, Dodge and do other neat things. Keep in mind, dodging is part of your turn..Movement, also is part of your turn. (If you have any questions ask one of us.) If you have already used your turn and are injured, this stuff is happening at the same "Turns" Just means we all play fair. Any Dice penalties should click in next turn. If your turn has past you can dodge next time around (as you are probably one of the first two people fighting.)
REMEMBER nothing is set in stone..Changes can and will be made..
