1963 Comet After Purchase- Aug 2000- Front View

This is the car after I purchased it in Oakland, California in August 2000. I washed it off and drove it to the San Francisco Bay and snapped a few photos. The photo show it before I had the front bumper rechromed and before the personalized license plate arrived.

1963 Comet After Purchase- Aug 2000- Rear View

This is the rear view of the car after I bought it. It had a totally blacked out tail panel and a Ford Falcon gas cap. The standard license plates were on the car at the time.

1963 Comet After Some Work- 2002- Rear View

The first two images are of my Comet shortly after I acquired it in the Summer of 2000. The bottom photo is the rear view of my Comet after restoration. The tail panel was repainted black and the aluminum vertical stripes were polished. An autherntic "Mercury Man" gas cap was located and installed, tethered with a cable to prevent theft. The rear deck lid script was replaced - another eBay find. After 18 months of searching, replacement backup lights were finally found on eBay! The lenses have been recently reproduced and were added.
