im graduating tomorrow!
February 18, 2003 Well, Kristine reminded, yet again, how terrible I was at updating my we page. Hey, I give monthly updates. Last night Jen and I went rollerblading on this road near 59 at 1 a.m. It was a blast. Then she practically took half of her toe off, we ditched the rollerblades and decided to go jogging.... barefoot. It wasnt pretty. We've been in the new house for a week now. You know, I never thought I would miss living in Wharton, but now that Im gone I do. I mean I love this house... its huge, but its not home.
January 8, 2003 We're back! I had such a blast in Colorado. The first day we went and saw Garden of the Gods (an area of strange rock formations), then we went swimming in a natural hot springs. The following day we got fitted for skis at Ft. Carson (where Jim is stationed) and headed out to Salida where we stayed at a days inn. The next day was SKIING!! I decided to take a lesson to start with, so Cat showed me how to get my skis on, stand up after i fell down, and get to the lesson meeting place. So, I'm standing there waiting for everyone to show up when I realize I am slowly sliding backwards down the slope. Conviniently for me, not for him, there was a snowboarder behind me not paying attenion, holding his board to one side of him. Well, a go straight into his board.... which goes straight down the hill. If looks could kill... It only got worse. The lesson was a waste of time and money... what they tried to teach me in 2 hours, Cat showed me in 15 minutes. During the lesson, I ran into someone, literally, worse than I was. Than came the poing where they were teaching us how to turn while skiing. So, of course, I got stuck being the first to try it. So I point down the hill, push off, and give it a try. It didnt work.... the whole time the instructor's running behind me yelling "WEDGE, WEDGE, WEDGE!" If the poles could reach I would have smacked him. Eventually I stopped, err, I should say the tree stopped me. Unfortunately, I found something called a tree well. Thats where the snow isnt packed tight around the tree. So as soon as I hit the tree and sopped moving... I sunk 3 feet into the snow. And the pissed off instructor had to take off his skis and dig me out. The rest of the day was better. Cat got a hold of me and taught me how to ski.. and Jay skiied behind me to pick me up when I *coughs* gracefully, tumbled down. After the first day, I could make it down the greens without falling *cheers*, and the second day I got to try some blues! The day after we got back, we went and saw jim's tanks. Jay got to see all the gadgets inside. (Thanks Jim!) I smiled and nodded from the ground. then we headed out to seven falls. It was overpriced but beautiful. The outside of the waterfall was fozen, but underneath the water was flowing. That evening we all went and saw Nemesis, which I personally thought was terrible. The next day we drove home!
December 31, 2002 Yeah, we're leaving today for Colorado!!
December 24, 2002 So I havent gotten any better at this. Tonight I had my family and in-laws over for dinner. It was interesting. Last year was a disaster. My parents arrived at 6, his didnt get here until 9 because they ran into someone in the parking lot of KMart while shopping for a cake to bring over. So this year I tried something new. I told the inlaws NOT to bring anything and to be here at 5:30. I told my parents to be here at 6:45 (they are early to everything). Amazingly, at 6:30 I got a knock on my door.... everyone was out there; they had pulled into the parking lot at the same time. I cant wait until we move into the new house. Next year we'll be able to sit around the fireplace... In one week I'll be leaving for Colorado!! MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!!
December 12, 2002 I take it back. I'm terrible at writing in this thing. Life's been pretty good. We just finished finals. 1 more semester left! I love Christmas. Today I was so excited about opening presents that while jay was at work i took all the presents I bought for him and unwrapped them all! We've been watching a moie called Taken for almost 2 weeks now. It's a 2 hour show on every night (finale tommorow), but the show part is 15 minutes then 10 minutes of comercials... I have never thought of myself as a violent person until jay had me play this game with him... and wow give me a weapon and the demons come out. You walk around in these robots *smiles happily* trying to blow each other to smitherenes. *sigh* great stress relief.
November 17, 2002 Jay starts his new job tomorrow. Im so glad he's done with his old one. Mom called from Wales yesterday. Did I mention Im green with envy?
November 13, 2002 Mom left for England on Sunday, lucky her. I got the black and white pic from Yellowston enlarged on Saturday. It turned out really nice! We have some student CNA's at work.... hehehe. Im having fun playing, I mean, teaching them....*sigh* they're so naive.
November 10, 2002 Well, we never made it to Ren Fest. Jay got called into work on the drive up there, so we had to turn around.... long story.
November 8, 2002 Isnt it disgusting that you can spend years working at something, and then when you leave, they can just throw it away like it was nothing? That's allright, i dont hear any singing yet.
November 7, 2002 Well, its official! We're going to Colorado in January! Im so excited! I've never ben skiing before! Today my mom came down and we went into all the little antique stores on the square. I took my favorite pic from Yellowstone to be enlarged. Its a black and white of a canyon. This weekend is Renfest!
Novemeber 5, 2002 Its strange to think that with all our so called knowledge and advancemets we really dont know anything. In the end it isnt our knowledge and research that keeps us or takes us but something else we cant control.
November 4, 2002 Who gets up at 4 am to go to school. Me. And Im sick of it. :( I leave in a few minutes to go to southwest memorial and work (for free of course) for 12 hours. Its cold and rainy and I wanna go to bed. *Sigh* 6 more months of this. On a better note, Jay and I are going to Renf-fest this weekend. :) This will be like our 5th year to go.
November 1, Today I went and worked in a pediatric clinic for school... it was so slow. I sat down and talked to Josie for about and hour. When I got home Jay greeted me at the door grinning. He asked me to help him write a letter. I knew what he was going to say next but asked anyway just to here it. "why a letter?" He says "I need a letter of resignation." Yahoooo! And he brought chinese home to celebrate! He'll be a manager of technology at a business in El Campo. Go figure. We move out here to wharton - he works in houston. We're about to move back to richmond and he gets a job in El Campo.
October 30, Wow, I actually made it to 2 entries. The exam in class was terrible. I had to leave early before we got the results back. I got the genius idea last night that it was time to get back in shape. So, naturally, I dragged Jay along with me. I cant believe how sore I am for how little i ran. Im going to try and drag him off his puter and out again tonight for another run. The air feels so alive tonight!
October 29, 2002 Allright, I give up on geocities. Im going to give this site a try. I will try and update it as much as I can! I have 6 more months until I graduate. I have had the last 5 days off of work. its been so nice! i have another test tomorrow.... sigh. i cant wait til this is over.
