JIMMY BYRNE

Jimmy Byrne and his wife Peggy
Have been family friends since 1962
We met while we both worked in New York
Traveling back an forth
between Local # 40 and Local # 361

Jimmy knew more about that Subway System
Than the people who were born there
He also kept those Long Island trains busy
Going to the Race Tracks
Today Retired He heads west to Gamble
"Vegas"
I still remember
That old place in Brooklyn Jimmy
( 2 South Portland )
A lot of "Tears & Laughter" lived there

JIMMY MURDOCK

Jimmy Murdock Was A Mohawk Indian
From New York.

He Was A Retired Member
Of Local Union Number # 25 Detroit, Michigan
When This Picture Was Taken In 1977
At "Temple Baptist Church" In Detroit, Mich.
During Their Annual "Hillbilly" Dinner
In The "Calvary Sunday School Class"

Where Jimmy Was A Member

Everyone Came Dressed As "Hillbillies"
Except "Chief Murdock"

The Kids In The Picture Are
Jim Martin, 12. And His Sister Tracy, 14.

They Went To Play Music At The Dinner.

In Closing I Want To Say..
Jim Murdock Was "Saved"
Back In The Mid-Sixties...
After A Lifetime Of Drinking..

---Do Indians Get Mean When Drinking---

I Knew Him A Long Time
Before The "Church" Did

And I'm Here To Tell You..."Yes They Do"

But My Old Friend Passed Away From Cancer
In 1993

Another "Bridgeman"
Memories Won't Let Go Of....

- Bud Martin -

The Fourth Of July... Only Come's Around Once A Year...
But Stop By A Construction Site, Some Time.
And Count The Flags Being Displayed On Clothes and Hard Hats...
Worn By Construction Workers' Every Day
Through Out The Year...
