We met this beautiful day at Wagner Park
with the glorious fall colors around us,
T-shirts and song books were handed out, event organizer Melanie Trondson made some announcements and thank-yous, then she introduced Yellowstone Wolf and Wolf Pup.
They run Wildlife Creations, and showed the snow globes they were giving to the seniors, as well as handing out the handmade angels Pup made, and keychains with a picture of our group from last year on one side, and Virginia Allen's 'Prayer Pose' on the other. (A large copy of the poster was given to the center last year.)
We then ran through the line up of songs.
WE finished our rehearsal and headed into the Mountain Chalet for a little suprise presentation for Mel. It is known that she is a Count Chocula fiend, and has a hard time finding it in the stores near her home. So....
That is about 40 boxes stacked on the table there!
and the sun in the sky filled our hearts with warmth. We gathered outside the ALC and waited for everyone to arrive, continuing with the fellowship started by Keith and Deb Perry the day before at the Worship Service.
A group photo was taken by the official photographer, Dreux DeMack, (He was the Official Photographer for almost everything!) and a prayer for healing was offered as a healing feather was passed around the group. With these good blessings upon us, we entered the building to sing for the seniors.
And here are Mom and I.
From the smile on our faces, I think it is obvious how much joy we gained by participating in this event. It is these small and self-less gifts of time and talent that make us richer, don't you think? One doesn't need to have a lot of money to give to improve the world, just a small amount of time, and the truth of love for humanity in their hearts. Physical gifts can serve as a reminder, but they tend to go away, while the warmth in the heart never does, it is always there, the key only as far away as one's memory to unlock them.
