Road Trip to New England
We took off Thursday night around 6pm and drove through
the night to arrive at Jay's house in Harwinton, CT about 8:30 am (special thanks to Mr. &
Mrs. Attruia for the awesome hospitality and grub, it was great visiting w/ you).
Harwinton is 2 hrs away from Boston, so we drove up Friday morning after arriving into CT
and toured Boston all day (it was very rainy, but cool nonetheless). We got to see where the
sitcom Cheers was filmed, we saw Fenway Park where the Red Sox play, walked up and down the
shopping district and hung out in the Qunicy Market area, which has a good night life. We
also saw the public gardens (where you can rent boats that look like swans), and some old
historic catholic churches.
We headed back to Harwinton and stayed with Jay Friday
night. By this time we (Andy really) had been up for 43 hours. Saturday we got up and then
headed down to New York City with Jay and his girl Lea - NYC is only 2 hours South of
Harwinton. We toured NYC all day Saturday and stayed the night in the city near Times
Square, in a really awesome hotel I might add. We had a great view from the 22nd floor and
it was right in the middle of Manhattan. We saw, of course Times Square, Rockefeller Center
(home to NBC), 5th Avenue shopping, FAO Swartz (the toy store from the movie "Big"), a Toys
'R' Us so big it had a ferris wheel inside, Saks 5th Avenue, and Greenwich Village... all in
one day. We hope to go back again to see more that we missed. We had a blast (thanks to Jay
and Lea for showing us around). Check out the pictures below from the whole
trip...
