Attention to the driver and front seat passenger in terms of safety is guaranteed in the Alfa 156 and Sportwagon by theseats with structure made partly of magnesium, transverse anti-submarining, pre-tensioners, and a complete airbags system; front driver’s side, front seat passenger’s side, de airbags found in the front seatbacks, and window airbags are optional for the sportwagon version. The airbag system on the Alfa 166; front driver’s side,witha capacity of 55 litres, front passenger’s side, with a capacity of 120 litres. To provide better protection against side-on collisions, the Alfa 166 also mounts a pair of “Side airbags”, found in the front seatbacks and controlled by special sensors.
