Main achievements

During my years working for the college, I have accomplished and achieved major achievements that contributed to the success of the college. A summary of main achievements are listed below:

Achievements in HR:

Worked on and created an alternative salary scale to match other academic organizations and government organizations and proposed a working model to save over AED 400,000 annually.

 

Formulated an employee annual appraisal system that was approved by the director, and is still implemented today.

 

Proposed to the head of Finance and HR development a reduction of admin staff plan for a cost effective, more efficient and better utilization of admin staff. This reduction plan did not affect the flow of work and contributed to better utilization of staff and resources. The plan saved the college over AED 400,000 annually.

 

Proposed a change in the health insurance provider. This move did not affect staff's insurance plan and saved the college over AED 114,000 in annual payments.

 

Achievements in Purchasing & Facilities :

 

 Proposed a plan to reduce the housing allowance paid to staff members by renting 2 whole buildings for the exclusive use of the college. The impact of this proposal was a saving of almost AED 370,000 annually.

 

 Emirates Coop Society ran the cafeteria facilities at Almasood building for one year without paying any rent. Out of AED 110,000 in rent costs the Finance department faced major obstacles in collecting them. I was able to recover almost AED 80,000 from Emirates Coop by consultation with the Dubai Chamber of Commerce legal department.

 

 Played a major role in collecting over AED 500,000 in student fees marked as doubtful debts by the Finance department.

 

 Proposed and implemented a full purchasing procedures manual with the cooperation of the internal auditor office. The manual made the purchasing procedures more efficient and cost effective and meant savings in time and cost.
