Alberta Government has a website that parents, students, and
teachers can use to get information regarding the education program. The
website provides information about the grade level curriculum, separating it
into the topics, general, and specific outcomes that teachers are to teach
the students. Parents are able to use this as a guide for what their
children are learning at school, and students will use this website to get
information about what is needed from them. Overall the website would be a
useful tool for parents and students to get a good understanding of the
information in the curriculum.

- The website provides many movie clips regarding science topics discussed
in the curriculum. The movie clips are made more for K-8 students using
cartoon characters and having mini quizzes before the movie shows it gives
students an understanding of the information that is going to shown. To
access all the movie clips a subscription needs to be purchased, for parents
at home is $9.00 a month. This is a great resource for students to use to
gain a better understanding of topics in the specific subject area.

- This
website that deals with our Topic D cloud unit is great for students to use.
There is games and activities that students can do to apply their knowledge
that they learn in the classroom. The website doesn't go into great details
but gives some basic information. Students could use this website to help
them prepare for their quiz on clouds.

- Not
only can students use this website for studying for their quiz, but is a
great addition to the notes that they take in class. The website provides
information for many topics discussed in Topic D of the science curriculum.
Very easy to get around the website and uses very simple language to get the
points around. The website also provides links to a few of their other
websites that deal with earth and atmosphere.
http://yahooligans.yahoo.com/
- A
website that provides students with great resources to access links of all
kind. Even though the website does not have any information it self, the
sites that the site recommends are very educational and safe for students to
use. Yahoo gives students access to many games and interesting articles in
their news section. The school section provides subject specific links.

- This
website provides information for our daily forecast. On the website students
get a guide on what they should wear to school and can take what they learn
in the science class about how to take a forecast of the weather. Students
can check the weather anywhere in North America and understand the different
seasonal changes that occur in different areas of the country.
http://www.wildwildweather.com
- The
website gives students information on various topics in our weather unit.
Although the website is not very easy to get around, the detail of the
information is very useful. Students can use this site to gain more
knowledge about the weather and use the links to quizzes and games.
http://www.funschool.com
- The
website gives students the chance to play games that allow them to problem
solve and navigate through challenges. Games are grade specific and only go
to the grade 6 but still have difficult levels in all areas. Include sounds
and bright colored graphics to make the games intriguing.
http://www.scholastic.com/kids/
- This
website just like many include games and involve many subject areas. One of
the different things about this website is that there is an area for
homework tips and tools to get ahead in school. Since the website is made
directly for kids the graphics and colors are great.
