MOVIE AND CD OF THE MONTH: JUNE 2004!!!

Movie of the Month: Spider-man 2
Yeah, this was pretty easy to predict. I haven't even written a review for it, but I'll so that here. I saw it monday night with the Tpeach and we both loved it. It was a spidey fan's wet dream really. Sam Raimi is just doing such a good job with these films, and this one is so far beyond the first I'm already practically foaming at the mouth for the third. The humor was much more prevalant in this film, which is awesome since it's such an integral part to the comic. The special effects were just out of this world. One of my little pet peeves with the first film was when Spidey was CG it was really obvious, but not in this movie. The fight sequences, especially the one on the side of the building (with Aunt May) and the train sequence, were absolutely amazing (pun intended). The emotional moments with MJ, Peter's internal struggles, Harry Osbourn's mental journey, everything is there. There were also more than one direct references to specific comic panels for the really hard-core fans which were brilliantly done. Though I must say I was a little bummed that MJ didn't say "Face it Tiger, you just hit the jackpot" when she showed up at the end, but it was close enough. ;-)

CD of the Month: Kevin Moore's Ghost Book
I haven't reviewed this one either, but it didn't really have much chance but to win since it's the only new CD I got this month. Luckily it's really good and deserves it's title. It's a soundtrack to a Turkish horror film called Okul which Kevin was approached to do by a fan since he's living in Turkey now. It's really atmospheric and haunting while keeping with a true Kevin Moore/Chroma Key/OSI type feel. Very cool stuff to listen to late at night. Really sets a neat mood.
