MOVIE AND CD OF THE MONTH: JANUARY 2004!!!

Movie of the Month: Along Came Polly
Considering I only saw one film that came out last month, Along Came Polly wins by default. The good thing is, it actually deserves this honor. This was a great flick, full of laugh-out-loud moments from start to finish. Stiller was spot-on as usual, Baldwin was hilarious as the wacky boss, Hoffman as the child actor/best friend was a bigtime spotlight stealer, Aniston fit perfectly into her role giving a much stronger comedic performance than in Bruce Almighty which Carrey had to carry her through, and let us not leave out the genius of Hank Azaria (who is much more buff than I would have ever thought) and the awesome blind ferret. Great flick.

CD of the Month: Fantömas' Delirium Cordia
The latest masterwork from the psychotic mind of Mike Patton, this record is one single track, extending the full 55 or so minutes of the disc. It basically takes you on a sonic journey through the process of going under the knife for surgery. It has everything from chaotic frenzy, to hypnotic chants, to creepy ambiance, and much much more. This album is not for the faint of heart, nor is its booklet which is a collection of graphic surgical pictures. An amazing piece of art which must be appreciated as such.
