We offer Boxing both as a martial art and as one of the world's best forms of exercise. Develop superior cardiovascular conditioning, weight control, strength enhancement, flexibility and self-discipline. We teach both men and women, all levels. Some of our students have advanced to the semi-finals and finals of the NYC Golden Gloves amateur tournament.
The boxing classes are also appropriate for beginners and those interested in developing both their health and competitive fighting skills. Training includes the basic techniques, partner drills for reaction and distance, focus mitt work, sparring, conditioning and heavy bag.
A basic workout includes:
- Jump rope for footwork, warm-up and leg endurance
- Shadow Boxing for proper form, execution and aerobic conditioning
- Heavy Bag work for developing power, resistance training and combination
- Speed bag work for hand eye coordination, rhythm, shoulder endurance
- Double end bag for accuracy and reaction
- Focus mitt work for interactive skills, accuracy and correction of technique
- Conditioning Drills Squats, Push-ups, ab work, medicine ball workouts to condition the body
Sparring and fighting are optional parts of the boxing program. Competition is a great goal but being in great shape is it's best reward. At Fit 2 Fight Club you go as you are prepared to handle. Our job is to help you excel.
