Meet Deborah Strandberg
Hi
and welcome to BeachHill Graphix! I would like to introduce you to who
I am... a lover of things Creative
and
of the Creator. I have finally accepted the "Creative Call" that
God gave me and am stepping out in the roll as Multimedia Graphic Artist.
My vision is to Glorify
God
with the giftings that He has blessed me with and to encourage
others who have similar giftings.
My
journey into Graphic Design spans over 23 years.
I began to be drawn into the field as I was working with the Public Relations
Director for the Courtenay Youth Music Centre.
She encouraged me to take the plunge and get professional training.... So I
enrolled in the Graphic Design Program at
David Thompson University Centre and I graduated with my Certificate in Graphic
Design in 1982. After arriving back in the Comox Valley, I became a Freelance
Graphic Artist, worked with Fine Signs Specialty Advertising, and then
Graphic Visions Screen Printing.
I took a sebatical from 1988-2000 and moved to Gold River to get married and start a family. After returning to the Comox Valley, I decided to re-enter the Graphic Design Field. In that 12 years the field changed significantly with the introduction of Computer Graphics.... So once again, I decided to take training to upgrade my skills. I am currently enrolled in the Digital Design for Print and Web Program with Excel College. The program offers training in Design Theory, Adobe Illustrator CS, Photoshop CS, InDesign CS on the Print side, and XHTML, Macromedia Dreamweaver MX, and Macromedia Flash MX on the Web side.
