A hidden cove is to the outer northwest wall of the box canyon, linked to it by caves that network through the canyon wall. A large one has been discovered that can carry wagons through to the cove. The cove itself cannot be seen from the river, a camoflaged entry is found, being cleared of floating timber and debris. The cove can hide 10 ships from the Vosk Rivers site. The entrance to the cove has been rigged with ship traps, a heavy net can be pulled across the entry, along with massive trees that where cut and placed in swing type configeration, both aimed to swing out and smash together at the entry to the cove. The points have been sharpened to pierce a ships hull. Platforms for fire catapults are hidden from view along each side of the entrance to the cove, able to fire bails of fire out onto the Vosk at incoming ships. Fish are occasionally dumped into the cove, to keep it well stocked. No fishing is permitted here, this is a food store in case of siege. No river tharlarions can get through the net, as it is only lowered, then raised again when a ship passes through. The net is just below the water line, out of view from above the water.
The docks are being cut into the rock walls and storehouses are caves, cleared from any extra rubble, huge columns help give extra support and design element to the area. Only 2 ships may be docked at once, along the side of the walls of the cove. The others need to be anchored in the cove, with small skiffs able to shuttle people and goods back and forth if need be. The ships that will be hired will also have men on them, charged with the ultimate protection of the valley.
A waterfall comes out of the steep walls of the box canyon and flows through the canyon for fresh water. Fruit trees are found along the way to the house being built along the back of the canyon.
That House
the House of Shadows. He builds this place as a safe haven, a getaway from City life.
The House of Shadows is being built against the back of the canyon, with caves linking it to the other passageways through the canyon walls. They have been searched well, and no ways can be found in, the are all sealed, hidden keyed, and laden with traps. It has a spring feeding it water so no slaves need to exit to get water. A moat surrounds the house, with a drawbridge to seal entry into the first courtyard. Firing parapits are also along the walls. The entrance of the gate, the road that enters, heads straight back, to the glorious house. Grounds around the moat will have the fruit trees and orchards, starting to be manicured along with lush gardens. No other house built in the valley, will be allowed to oversize the design of the House of Shadows. More is known about the house, yet not to be told as now.
