Biography

Lesane Parish Crooks grew up around nothing but self-delusion for most of his life. His mother,Alice Faye Williams, thought of herself as a "revolutionary."She called herself "Afeni Shakur" and associated with members of the ill-fated Black Panther Party, which was a movement that wanted to feed school kids breakfast and earn civil rights for African Americans.

During her youth she dropped out of high school, partied with North Carolina gang members, then moved to Brooklyn. After an affair with one of Malcolm X's bodyguards, she became political. When the mostly white United Federation of Teachers went on strike in 1968,instead of protesting, she crossed the picket line and taught the children herself. After this, instead of merely associating herself with the Black Panther Party, she joined a New York chapter, and soon fell in with an organizer named Lumumba. She took to ranting and raving about killing the police officers that she referred to as "the pigs",and also overthrowing the government. This eventually led to the arrest of herself along with that of twenty comrades. The charge was conspiring to set off a race war.She was now pregnant. She made bail and told her husband,Lummuba, that the child she was carrying wasn't his child.Apparently, behind his back she had been carrying on with Legs.Legs was a small-time associate of the Harlem drug baron,Nicky Barnes. She was also carrying on with Billy Garland who was a member of the Party. For this,Lumumba immediately divorced her.

After this, things basically went downhill for Afeni. Her bail was revoked, and she was imprisoned in the Women's House of Detention in Greenwich Village. In her cell she once patted her belly and said,"This is my prince. He is going to save the black nation."

By the time Tupac was born on June 16,1971,Afeni had already defended herself in court and been acquitted on 156 counts. Now living in the Bronx, she found steady work as a paralegal and tried to raise her son to respect the value of an education.

From childhood, everyone called him the "Black Prince." For misbehaving,he had to read an entire edition of The New York Times.Unfortunetly she had no answer when he asked about his daddy."She just told me,'I don't know who your daddy is.'It wasn't like she was a slut or nothin'.It was just some rough times."When he was two,his sister,Sekyiwa, was born. This child's father,Mutulu, was also a Black Panther. In 1981,Mutulu is accused of planning and executing the"Brinks robbery",where two New York policemen and a Brinks guard were killed.Mutulu then goes underground for several years, maintaining his innocence. In 1986,Mutulu is arrested, convicted and now serves a 60-year penalty. He still denies his involment with the holdup.

With Mutulu away, the family experienced some very hard times. No matter where they moved-the Bronx,Harlem, homeless shelters-Tupac was distressed."I remember crying all the time.My major thing growing up was I couldn't fit in.Because I was from everywhere.I didn't have no buddies that I grew up with."

As time passed, the issue of his father tormented him more and more.He felt"unmanly,"he said. Then his cousins started saying he had an effeminate face."I don't know.I just didn't feel hard.I could do all the things my mother could give me,but she couldn't give me nothing else."

The loneliness soon began to wear on him.He retreated into writing love songs and poetry."I remember I had a book like a diary. And in that book I said I was going to be famous."He said he wanted to be an actor, because to him, acting was an escape from his dismal life.He was good at it,and eager to leave his crummy family behind."The reason why I could get into acting was because it takes nothin' to get out of who I am and go into somebody else."

His mother soon enrolled him in the 127th Street Ensemble, which is a theater group in the impoverished Harlem section of Manhattan. This is where he landed his first role at age twelve, that of Travis in A Raisin in the Sun."I lay on a couch and played sleep for the first scene. Then I woke up and I was the only person onstage.I can remeber thinking, "This is the best shit in the world!"That got me real high.I was gettin' a secret:This is what my cousins can't do."

In Baltimore, now at age fifteen,he first began to fall into rap.He started writing lyrics, walking with a swagger, and milking his background in New York for all it was worth.People in small towns feared the Big Apple's reputation;he called himself MC New York and made people think he was a tough guy.

He later enrolled in the illustrious Balitomore School for the Arts. This is where he studied acting and ballet with white kids and finally felt"in touch" with himself."Them white kids had things we never seen,"he said."That was the first time I saw there was white people who you could get along with. Before that,I just believed what everyone else said:They was devils. But I loved it.I loved going to school. It taught me a lot.I was starting to feel like I really wanted to be an artist."This is also where he met his long-time friend,Jada Pinkett.Unfortunately,Tupac was unable to continue his training, and moved with his family to Marin City"The Jungle",California. He has been quoted saying"Leaving that school affected me so much,I see it as the point where I got off track".The man side began to come out of Tupac as he now began to hang with the wrong crowd.

By the time he was twenty,Shakur had been arrested eight times, and was even serving eight months in prison on charges of sexual abuse. In addition,he was the subject of two wrongful-death lawsuits. One involving a six-year-old boy who was killed after getting caught in gang-war crossfire between Shakur's gang and a rival group.

In the late eighties,Shakur teamed up with Humpty-Hump (a.k.a. Eddie Humphrey,a.k.a. Gregory "Shock-G" Jacobs),and other Oakland-based rappers to create Digital Underground.Digital Underground is a band intent on massive bass beats and frenetic,Parliament-Funkadelic-style rhythms.By 1990,the group released its debut and best album,Sex Packets, which was a pulsating testament to the boogie power of hip-hop, featuring two classic tracks,"Humpty Dance" and "Doowutchyalike."After an EP of re-mixes in 1991,D.U. released Sons of the P and,and then in the following year,The Body-Hat Syndrome, which were all on Tommy Boy Records.

In 1992,Shakur entered a most fruitful five-year period. He broke free of Digital Underground, and soon made his solo debut,2Pacalypse Now.This is a gangsta rap document that put him in the notorious, and high-speed lane to stardom. This was also the same year he starred in Juice.Juice is an acclaimed low-budget film about gangs which saw some Hollywood success. In 1993,he recorded and released Strictly 4 My N.I.G.G.A.Z.,an album that found Shakur crossing over to the pop charts.Unfortunately,he also found himself on police blotters. When allegations of a violent attack on an off-duty police officer and sexual misconduct arose. That same year,Shakur played a single father and Janet Jackson's love interest in the John Singleton film Poetic Justice.

In November of 1994,he was shot five times during a robbery in which thieves made off with $40,000 worth of his jewelry.Shakur miraculously recovered from his injuries and proceeded to produce his most impressive artistic accomplishments, including 1995's Me Against the World, which sold two million copies, and the double-CD All Eyez on Me,which sold nearly three million. As his career began a steep rise toward fame and fortune,Shakur was shot and killed after watching a Mike Tyson fight with Death Row Records president Marion "Suge" Knight.Though his death was a jolt to his fans and the music community,Shakur himself often said that he expected he'd die by the sword before he reached thirty.

Following his passing,Shakur's label released an album,The Don Killuminati, under the pseudonym "Makaveli."The cover depicted Shakur nailed to a cross under a crown of thorns, with a map of the country's major gang areas superimposed on it.In January of 1997,Gramercy pictures released Gridlock'd,which was a film in which Shakur played the role of a drug addict. This received mostly good reviews. His final film,Gang Related, was released in 1997.Death Row is said to have several unreleased recordings in the vaults for potential future releases.

The name Tupac brings with it much controversy on the topic of weather or not he is truly dead. Some people believe that he faked his death in order to gain power and also to gain more wealth. Some also believe he faked his death because he said sometimes that he wanted to "drop out of the lime light".Here are some reasons people believe he faked his death, and is truly alive and in hiding. Also included are some reasons other sources and I believe contridict those reasons, and prove that he is truly dead.

1.2Pac "died" on Friday the 13th,which is a very suspicious day.---For superstitious people, this may be significant evidence. After all, these are the people that believed that the world was going to come to a blazing end come the year of 2000,and we all saw how well that one went along. This is just a coincidence and also just another example of all the weird and very odd events that surrounded Tupac's life.

2.Las Vegas is a big payoff city. This means that all sorts of people have been known to always be on the take. This includes the press,doctors,lawyers,etc.---This is one of the most insane and ridiculous throries that I've heard.Well, okay, spotting Tupac in London was a little bit worse.

3.The vehicle that he and Suge were in got shot twelve times, and Suge Knight did not get shot even once.He was merely grazed by a bullet. Why was Tupac the only one to get shot, and Suge didn't get shot even once?---First of all,the shooter came on Tupac's side of the car. It's only natural that he would be the one getting hit. Also,it is believed that the gunman was aiming directly for Tupac, which is another reason why only Tupac would got shot.

4.The white Cadillac containing the suppossed assailants was never found. How could this be when Vegas is in the middle of a desert?---This happens a lot actually.Take the Notorious B.I.G's shooting as an example...the shooter's car was never found either. That white Cadillac is most likely some red Mustang at some local chop shop in Southern California by now.

5.Tupac soon began to work under the alias of Makaveli, which is another spelling of Machiavelli. He was an Italian war strategist who faked his own death to fool his enemies in order to gain power.Maybe Tupac is doing the same thing...?---Niccolo Machiavelli was an Italian. So,you're right about one thing. He was an Italian war theorist. He did not fake his death, but advocated it.

6.The memorial services that were in both Los Angeles and in Atlanta were open to the public, but later canceled.Why?---Think about it.There was a lot of anger about his death. Also, there was,of course, some gang life surrounded around him,and the people he associated himself with. They were both cancelled for safety reasons. We had already lost one person, why would we want to lose more?

7.The cover of his next album after his "death" has Tupac looking like Jesus Christ, and hanging from a cross.Could this be a clue that he's planning a resurection?---Tupac had this in mind for some while now.He never wanted to be like the other rappers, but stand out. This was his way of standing out once again in the music industry.

8.Tupac was suppossedly cremated the day after his death. When did they begin cremating people only one day after their death?---In fact, most people are cremated one to three days after their death. Also, why would his family want his body exposed for that long of a period?Nobody in their right mind wants people taking and publishing pictures of their son after death.

9.Suge Knight suppossedly drove Tupac to the hospital.Suge said they had a coherent conversation! How badly was he hit to have a coherent conversation?---This is the same Tupac that smoked weed after getting shot five times in a Times Square recording studio.Any questions?

10.Tupac has completed two movies, and three LPs that still haven't been released.Anything connected to Tupac would ring in loads of cash.Couldn't this be a reason that Tupac faked his death?...To gain more fortune?---So I take it that the famous fashion designer Gianni Versace faked his death as well?He has two complete clothing lines that still haven't been released.

11.There are some conflicting stories that Kaddida Jones was in the back seat of the car,and then she wasn't.How do you explain this?---Sources have proven that Kaddida Jones was not in the car.In fact, she was at one of the Las Vagas hotels getting ready because she was planning on meeting Tupac later that night at Mike Tyson's mansion for the victory celebration.

12.Suge Knight and Tupac are the only two men in the music industry with that high of a profile who would have the courage to pull off a stunt like faking death.---Even though Suge is a shady character, and his company,Death Row Records, were basically milking money out of Tupac and robbing his estate,he still deeply cared for Tupac. They had made a strong bond together.Tupac felt that the people in Death Row were the only people that touched him when nobody else would even look his way.Although Suge and Tupac may have been the only two people with that high of a profile, and enough courage to pull such a stunt off, they're also very smart, especially in dealing with money.Any very intelligent person will tell you that Tupac would be worth much more alive, then dead.

13.In Tupac's music video,'I Isn't Mad At Ya'foretold his death.---So did most of his lyrics. He always rapped, and talked about his early meeting with death. He knew that the old saying,"Live by the gun,die by the gun",was true.He also knew that many people envied him so much they wanted him dead,so there is nothing strange about him foretelling his death.

14.Didn't Tupac always wear a bullet proof vest? But all of a sudden he didn't wear it this one night. Why not?---Kaddida Jones was quoted saying,"Tupac decided not to wear his bullet proof vest because it was very hot that night and he had just got his shirt torn in a scuffle."He then put on the green basketball jersey seen in the picture below that was taken moments before his death.

15.The white Cadillac containing the suppossed gunmen passed an entourage of Tupac's,with most being body guards, yet no one gives a chase.Explain that.---Actually,they did give a chase, and there were shots that were reportedly fired back, although they will all deny it,of course.

So,does this totally prove that he's dead? No,but here's just one more reason to believe he is.I really didn't want to put this here because I feel it is totally disrespectful, and truly isn't letting him "Rest In Peace".So why did I put this here?Well, after people would read this,or whenever I would read other pages trying to prove his death,or that he is truly alive, the thing that I believe appeared most often was that there were no pictures of him dead. So,here you go,the picture of him in the morgue.

In late 1997 Cathy Scott published "The Killing of Tupac Shakur", which contained an autopsy photo of Shakur that had been leaked by a source within the Las Vegas police department.

Well, you've read it.There's nothing more I can say or do.So,in conclusion, the last question was,is,and always will be,"Is Tupac truly dead,or did he fake his own death?"I believe he is dead,as for you,I don't know what you believe, but I hope you believe the same.Make the decision for yourself.

I will be adding more as I find more, and soon I will have the infamous 7 Day Theory, and reasons contridicting it.
