This is Just Where I Came In! AND 1997 LifeTime Achievement Award

Fulfilling a 35-year-old Dream, I Finally Got to See the Bee Gees Live on Sunday, June 17, 2001 at Wango Tango at Dodger Stadium. For Those of You Who Are Not Familiar with Kiss-FM's Wango Tango, It's a Yearly Day-Long Event Where About 20 Bands Perform and There is One Headliner Group Who Comes on Last and Plays for About 2 Hours. Well, At This Fantastically Special Wango Tango, The Bee Gees Were the Headliners, Promoting their New CD, "This is Just Where I Came In, and came on Right After Aerosmith and Played for what seemed like a heavenly eternity!

I took My 21-year-old Daughter with Me, Who Also Loves the Bee Gees, and We Had Probably the Best Day Together We Have Ever Shared as Adult Friends. She Loves "Mo" (Maurice) and Made a Sign for Him with Glitter and Hearts with "I LOVE YOU MO" on It. Since We Were in the 7th Row on the Floor, Right in Front of Barry (My Love!) Mo Could See the Sign. He Actually Came Right Over in Front of us, not 10 Feet Away, Bowed to My Daughter and Blew her a Kiss! And I Could Have Had the Same From Barry???? I Am Still Kicking Myself because I Did Not Make a Sign for Barry Because I Did Not Want Robin to Feel Left Out! I Feel As Though I know Them Personally and Would Never Want to Hurt One of Them! LOL

I've Heard So Many People Say They Do Not Like the Bee Gees, But Let me Tell you, There are a Lot of "Closet" Bee Gees Lovers Out There. With 50,000 People in Attendance That Day, and It was Time for the Bee Gees to Come on, They Turned the Stage Around with The Bee Gees Drum Set, and You Could see the Helicopter Bringing the Boys In, The Crowd Went Absolutely Nuts! I Truly Thought Dodger Stadium Was Going to Collapse! And Once They Started Singing, People from 10 to 100 were Screaming, Clapping, Dancing in the Aisles and Singing Along to Every Song. It was a Wonderful (Though Overdue) Tribute to One of the Best Rock and Roll Groups to Every Hit the Music Scene, Second Only in Writing, Arranging, and Singing Ability Only to the Beatles.

Who are The Bee Gees?

I was in a College Chat Room with My Kids One Day, and I was using the Name "BeeGeeSan" so the Kids Wouldn't Know I was a 50 Something-Year-Old College person. One of the naive young girls actually said, "What is a bee gee?" and Another Girl Answered, "I Think they Used to Be a Singing Group." My Only Conclusion from that conversation is these girls are part of today's youth who don't even know what a Real Band is. If Many of the First 19 Groups That Came on During the Wango Tango Concert who Just Come Out and Dance with Half Their Bodies Hanging Out of Their Clothing, Have No Musical Ability to Play Instruments or Write Their Own Music are an Example of What they Call "A Band" is, it's No Wonder They Wouldn't Know Who The Bee Gees Are. "Real Bands" Have the Staying Power of 40+ Years - Not's Why They Are Still Around Today, Still Performing! The Beatles (Paul McCartney), The Rolling Stones, Neil Diamond, Rod Stewart, Aerosmith just to name a few. These Young Ignorants are only aware of the Overnight Sucess Groups like NSYNC (even though I liked them), Britany Spears (Yuck!) or OMG Paris Hilton. These people last about a week on the Music Scene Because They Have No Lasting Singing or Musical Abilities.

The Bee Gees are Three Brothers: Barry, Robin and Maurice Gibb...Three Outstanding Songwriters, Singers, Producers and Musicians. In the music business for over 40 years and with world-wide record sales exceeding 175 million, they are in the top five of the most successful recording artists of all time, and have writen produced and performed six consecutive "Number Ones" in the U.S. Charts. In 1998, after 33 years in the Business, According to "The Billboard Book Of Number One Hits" Here is their Listing By Group - Three of Which are All Bee Gee (Gibb) Brothers:
#1 Hits Written
1. Lennon (31 Songs)
2. McCartney (25 Songs)
3. Barry Gibb (16 Songs)
4. Brian Holland (13 Songs)
4. Robin Gibb (13 songs)
6. Maurice Gibb (11(Songs)

For Those of You Out There Who Still Think That Bee Gees' Only Claim to Fame was Saturday Night Fever and Think of Them as the "Disco Kings," I need to Further Educate You! The Bee Gees Have been Performing and Writing Their Own Songs Since they Were Young Teens. On Their "Off Times" Due to the Stigma we Americans Have Attached to Them as the Disco Kings, They Have Written Hundreds of Songs for Other Singers, as Well As Comesback Albums for Barbra Streisand, Celine Dion, Kenny Rodgers, Dionne Warwick, Diana Ross, and Many Many More. Those Same People Who Say That Do Not Like The Bee Gees Can Be Caught Humming or Singing a Song That the Bee Gees Wrote and they Are Not Even Aware of it (All By Myself, Heartbreaker, Woman in Love, Islands in the Stream...a #1 Country Hit for Months. Even Your Toddlers Are Probably Singing Bee Gee Songs, as They Wrote "Sesame Street Forever." Their First Big Hit (Besides Massachusetts in the U.S.) was "To Love Somebody," an R&B Type Song That Barry Wrote in One Evening to be Performed by Otis Redding. Unfortuantely Redding Died 3 weeks Prior to Recording the song, so the Bee Gees Recorded it Themselves and It Turned Out to Be a Tremendous Hit. Have you Seen the Recent Remake of the Movie "The In-Laws" with Michael Douglas? The Theme Song for that Movie was "Wedding Day" Written by Barry Gibb and performed by the Bee Gees.

I am sure that You Would Be Surprised to See the Hundreds of Songs They Have Written and Done the Arrangements For. If You Would Be Interested in Checking Them Out, Just Click Here and Enjoy!

The Motion Picture Saturday Night Fever, which in some people's eyes doomed the Group to Becoming "The Disco King" was Predominately Written, Arranged and Performed by The Bee Gees. It is Still, to this Day, the #1 Selling Soundtrack of all Time, not only in the U.S., but in The U.K., Germany, Australia, New Zealand, Italy, Spain, Holland, Chile, Brazil, Argentina, Mexico, Japan, France, Austria, Canada, South Africa, Belgium and Switzerland. How's That for Staying Power? Move Over NYSC! (By the Way, Even NYNC Has the Ultimate Respect for the Talents of the Bee Gees - Have You Heard their Tribue to the Bee Gees - A Mixture of Bee Gee Songs Done With NYNC's Beautiful Harmonization and Done A cappella.
