The son of Jun Kazama and Kazuya Mishima.At the age of 15,he learned who his father was but at the same time lost his mother. Jin trained under the supervision of Heihachi every day with the intention of defeating the God of Fighting,who he believes to have killed his mother.For him,Heihachi is both his grandfather and a teacher. Ling Xiaoyu
A 16 year old girl,she outshines adults with her excellent martial arts,but because she is a child,she spends most of her time playing.Her dream is to is to build the perfect amuesment park in China when she grows up,but money is going to be a problem.According to her "grandfather",Wang,who is both her teacher and distant relative,the Mishima financial empire in Japan seems to be very rich.Xiaoyu wanted to meet Heihachi,the president of the empire. One day,while sightseeing in Hong Kong with her family,Xiaoyu saw the Mishima flag flying on a luxurious cruiser anchored in the harbour (Heihachi was in Hong Kong to ask Lei to the tournament).She crept on board. During the voyage to Japan,Xiaoyu was discovered and she scuffled with Mishima's men.On hearing the disturbance,Heihachi rushed to the scene and saw his men lying there.Xiaoyu ran up to Heihachi and begged him to build her ideal amuesmnet park in China.She even threatened him to act violantly again if her turned down her request.Heihachi was so amused by this childish blackmailer that he laughed,promising her he'd build whatever theme park she wanted if she won the tournament. Xiaoyu agreed.Heihachi believing she wouldn't participate,feels a little embarrassed.
Hwoarang
As a student of Baek's gym,Hwoarang is a pure enthusiast of Tae Kwan Do.He is also the leader of a dishonest street gang who gamble who will win.At first,they pretend to be really poor fighters,lulling the opposition into a false sense of security,so they'll bet more money.However,in the last fight,Hwoarang himself participates and defeats them all.Nobody knows what he spends the money on,but so far he has been able to maintain his undefeated record.
One day,a group of people from the Mishima financial empire came to his town.Thinking they might be easy victims.Hwoarang worked very smoothly as usual to trick them.However,this time it was Jin Kazama who stood in front of Hwoarang.The fight did not come to an end,and Hwoarang had to accept "a draw" for the first time (ha ha ha,never mess with a Kazama).
Hwoarang went back to the gym hall and told his teacher Baek,about this humiliating experience.He knew that Kazama had used Mishima style karate and being unsatisfied with the final result of the fight,Hwoarang strove to better himself.However,before he could finish his training,Baek was suddenly killed by the God of Fighting.
Hwoarang has entered the 3rd tournamnet in order to pursue Ogre and also to prove that the draw with Jin must have been a fluke!
Eddy Gordo Eddy comes from one of the richest families in Brazil.Famous in his home town for his dilligence and gentle personality,he was raised to take over his father's business when his father retired.However,when Eddy was 19 he found his fahter smeared with blood and mortally injured.He'd been trying to annihilate the narcotics syndicate which was damaging his country.Just when he had enough information,the organisation attacked.He told Eddy with his dying breath ,"Now is not the right time to fight.Take the blame for my death and hide in prison."
Eddy's life was completely reversed.From being a well respected student in a rich family,to a common criminal.His life in the prison was hell.Thinking of his own helplessness,he could do nothing but weep every day,cursing the organisation that had murdered his fahter.
One day,during a prison riot,Eddy saw something strange,an old man with a great fighting power.Fascinated by this power,Eddy asked the old man what technique it was.The answer was,"Capoeira".All Eddy could think about was to gain this "power",so he trained under the supervision of the old man every day.
Eddy has been in prison for 8 years now.He has mastered Capoeira and seeks revenge for his father's killer's.
When released,he heard about the Iron Fist tournament.He decided to participate,thinking he could gain more "power" by utilising the Mishima financial empire in order to avenge himself on his father's murder!
Forest Law Forest is Marshall Law's son.He is training himself at his father's gym hall,but any contests outside his own group are forbidden by his father.Every 3 months,Paul Phoenix visits the gym hall to fight with Marshall.However,on one occasion,Marshall is absent building a new gym.Paul invites Forest to come training with him,in the hope of persuading him to participate in the forthcoming 3rd tournament.
Although forbidden to fight others,Paul flatters Forest by telling him he has more talent than his father.Though a little worried,Forest wants to try himself and this is a good chance to test whether he is good enough to inherit his father's gym.Against his fahter's advice,Forest makes up his mind to enter the tournament.
When Marshall returns home and finds the message left behind by Paul he's furious.
"He's stolen my son!"
Paul Phoenix At the previous tournament,Paul fought against Kuma on his way to Kazuya,and won.However,during this time,the tournament finished and so he lost his chance to win.Paul (who started martial arts as an admirer of Willy Williams) is now a famous martial artist himself,admired by younger fighters all over the world.He has won many tournaments since then.However,he still feels that something is missing.
# In spring,Paul receives a letter informing him of the forthcoming 3rd tournament.He has not once neglected his training in the last 19 years and is in perfect condition both phsically and mentally.How can he possibly be defeated?Paul,at age 46,has no weak point!
Lei Wulong Lei was about to catch Bruce at the previous tournament when he managed to escape.After the tournamnet,Bruce's plane crashed.It's said that Kazuya's corps may have caused it to silence Bruce,but Lei thinks it a hoax and doubts Bruce is really dead.
During the 19 years since,Lei has solved a lot of international crimes.He is such an agile person that he doesn't look 45 at all.Not surprising then that he's known by the nickname of,"Super cop".Investigating the disappearance of prominent martial artists within his jurisdiction,Lei was visited by Heihachi.Heihachi asked Lei to enter the forthcoming 3rd tournament.Lei cannot understand the reason for the invitation,but Heihachi tells him that if he enters,all will become clear.Thus Lei enters the 3rd King of Iron Fist Tournament!
King King junior was brought up in the orphanage run by the first King.When he reached 24,he saw King killed by someone.Seeing that the orphans were down hearted and losing hope,he put on the mask to keep the orphanage going.However,he couldn't become very powerful because all his techniques were learned just by watching the first King during his childhood.Armor King hears a rumour that King Jr has become Kings successor and visits him.Seeing that he is appearing in the ring despite his suffering,Armor King decides to train King Jr.Although Armor King knows who killed King,he decides out of friendship for King,he believes that bringing up this young man is more important than anything else.
Four years pass and the young King has grown into a powerful wrestler-King the 2nd.At this time,he learns from Armor King that King's murderer was Ogre,the God of Fighting.His trembling fists are wet with Armor Kings tears.Without saying a word,he takes Armor King's hand and gives a nod.A friendhip spanning generations is restored.
Nina Williams During the previous tournament,she was ordered to assassinate Kazuya,but failed because she was drawn into a quarrel with her sister,Anna Williams.Captured by Kazuya's men,she was used as a guinea pig by Dr Bosconovitch for his second cold sleep unit.She hasn't been woken for over 15 years!
Meanwhile,Heihachi's Tekken Force have excavated the God of Fighting.The activities of this creature call out to Nina's spirit.Controlled by Ogre,Nina makes Jin Kazama her next assassination target
Yoshimitsu Dr Bosconovitch saved Yoshimitsu's life,but the circumstances are still not totally clear.Whatever the story,Yoshimitsu now fights for the poor and disadvantaged.This also helps fund Bosconovitch's experiments.Yoshi entered the 3rd Iron Fist Tournament to obtain the blood of Ogre,the God of Fighting.With this,Dr B can complete his research and bring his daughter back to life after she died during the doctors "cold sleep" experiment.
Kuma The original Kuma died whilst on his travels with Heihachi.It is his child that enters the 3rd tournament.
One day while watching television,he overflowed with aggression at the sight of Paul Phoenix.He takes it upon himself to destroy the man his father before him hated so much.Kuma Jr is also secretly in love with Panda.If he could win the tournament,that would certainly impress Panda.Wouldn't it?
Panda
Gon Gon is the first licensed character to appear in a Tekken game.He has starred in his own weekly comic strip for about 7-8 years now and is well known in his native Japan.Quite why he is in the 3rd Iron Fist Tournament is unknown but nevertheless,he is there.Watch your ankles challengers

Doctor Boskonovitch Dr B has a crippling disease that has almost totally taken away the use of his legs.However,despite this,he still soldiers on in the scientific circle and has many revolutionary works under his belt icluding the Jack robots.
In the second tournamnet,Dr B was kidnapped by Kazuya's men and made to work for them.One of the many tasks meant re-desiging/building the prototype Jack unit.He was later rescued by Yoshimitsu.The pair have a unique bond due to the fact that Dr B fitted a cybernetic arm to Yoshimitsu when he lost his sword carrying arm to a lazer trap device.
In the 3rd tournament,Dr B desperately wants Ogre's blood as this is the only way he will be able to save his daughter's life.She has a fatal condition and Ogre's blood and it's power is the only way to save her.He currently has her preserved awaiting the operation in one of his freezing chambers that housed Nina and Anna for 15 years!His daughter's life is in Boskonovicth's hands.He must act quickly or face losing his daughter forever!
Anna Williams 19 years ago,Anna heard from Kazuya that her sister,Nina,was to be a guinea pig for a cold sleep experiment.She couldn't accept that Nina would stay young while she got older.So Anna put herself into a cold sleep too,to awaken when Nina did.
The time-the present.Nina is awoken by the God of Fighting and Anna woke up at the same time.She attacked Nina ,but soon realised that Nina had completely lost her memory.Deciding that she didn't want to quarrel with a sister who couldn't even remember her.
Anna is now trying to stop Nina being an assassin,and is now involved in the God of Fighting mystery.
Bryan Fury An international police officer,Bryan Fury was killed in a Hong Kong shoot-out.Instead of being buried,Bryan's corpse was bought back to life by one Dr Abel.This 88 year old scientist was quite famous in the underground scientific society,but his studies were always beaten by Dr Boskonovitch.Now though,he was finally in his final stage of his "cyborg army" project.Abel thought the perfect cyborg must have Dr B's permanent mechanism though,and revived Bryan's dead body to have him collect Boskonovitch's brain data.
In his former life,Bryan was a skillful detective,but there were rumours that Lei Wulong had discovered he had a conncetion with drug dealers.
Bryan snuck into the 3rd tournament,targeting Yoshimitsu,who has a strong connection with Dr Boskonovitch!
