The Reason We
Shine
Our Martyrs will be
known not just for our uncommon wisdom, but more importantly we will
shine with virtue!
Herein is the
fulfillment of one end-time prophecy. . . there are others we will
fulfill as well!
*“When the lion
lays down with the lamb. . . and a little child shall lead them” – Isaiah 11:6
Meaning: When one
has the humility of a lamb, coupled with the courage of a lion. . .
it has the effect of stretching ones temple so it can hold an excess
of holy-light, which consumes
the darkness within - that is why not a child but a little child
will lead them, because only a little child is still innocent! This
is a Divine formula on how to become pure before God. (Another
fast-tract to purity is to become an ascetic like John-the-Baptist.
An ascetic is a person, who among other things, eats almost nothing.
To be pure before the Almighty is to be in a position to be mightily
used by Him!)
We Living Martyrs
work hard at developing virtues. . . especially these two; humility
and courage. As I have already revealed through the Modern day
John-the-Baptist document (doc. 3), for someone to strive to fully
develop these two virtues its a sacred undertaking. There are a
great many humble people, and many brave people, but there aren’t
that many people who shine in both of these virtues! That is the
type of balanced street minister that the Lord desires us to
create,. . and that’s the subject matter of this essay!
Hiding behind the
virtue of humility can be lurking the ungodly heart of a coward, and
behind an admirable courageous front is too often someone who is
puffed-up (pride). Therefore we work hard at developing both
virtues. Therefore by imbibing both humility and courage we also
destroy our own inner demons; demons of either cowardess and/or
pride. This humility coupled with courage is the balance that the
Lord desires for all our Living Martyrs. Having this inner balance
will ensure our long term success. Since, its a every real concern
for people who regularly walk the hard road to become puffed-up, we
have a unique way to stop this problem from occurring. It is the
practice of humiliation!
One of the most
successful of all Christian groups, the early Franciscan-Christians
(13th century Saints), would do things like making themselves appear
despicable in public, just to get mocked (self-humiliation)!
The humiliations
that these Christians voluntarily performed was a big part of the
reason that many of these men became spiritual giants (like the
original Apostles). Therefore, our Living Martyr candidates will be
required to submit to performing public humiliations just like them!
(A proud man or a demon will never willingly allow himself to be
publicly humiliated!).
Note: We
do our street work in different towns than we use to publicly
humiliate ourselves (for obvious reasons).
If one lives a life
of humble service for many years, this lifestyle gradually makes the
soul humble, pure, and innocent. The good that takes many years of
performing humble selfless service to accomplish for the soul,
through humiliation this can be accomplished in but a handful of
months! In other words, humiliation is the fast-tract to attain
humility. . . with all its priceless spiritual benefits! Why is
this so?? Because humiliation is far lower than humility! For
example, if one athlete works out with heavier weights that athlete
will get stronger faster than another who works out with lighter
weights. For this same reason practicing humiliations is a far more
powerful sanctification tool than is practicing humility. Aren’t I
making sense?
Lest we forget the
cross of Christ was not only suffering, but humiliations as well.
People such as St. Paul suffered greatly for the gospels. The early
Franciscans-Christians suffered for the cross in a less well-known
fashion. They were masters in the art of self-humiliation! For that
and other reasons, some of the first friars attained the sanctity of
the original Apostles {One of them was taken up into the 3rd heaven
like St Paul, that was Brother Giles. Another-tall Brother
Philip-was touched on the lips by an angel with a burning coal, like
Isaiah the Prophet. Another Brother Sylvester, a very pure virginal
soul – spoke with God as one friend with another, as Moses did.
Another, by the keenness of his mind, soared up to the light of
Divine Wisdom, like John the Evangelist – and this was the very
humble Brother Bernard. St Francis was the first mortal whom God
imprinted with the Holy Stigmata (the five sacred wounds}.
Also, the form of
Christianity the early Franciscan-Christians followed was very
different from the form most Christians follow today. Since Christ
Himself told Francis, He preferred “Action above teaching” - the
early Franciscans followed a non-intellectual, action-oriented form.
For God’s sake they lived in extreme poverty and instead of laboring
for intellectual knowledge (as most Christians do nowadays), through
hard work they labored to develop within themselves every Godly
virtue (humility, compassion, courage, patience, etc.). They knew
that the real purpose of Christianity was to become a noble being
who shines in virtue like Jesus did, and also to become a person who
is fruitful in good works.
Consequently, these
men where responsible for the greatest revival of the Middle Ages!
Why not obtain and
read this spiritual classic, and check it out for yourself? (“Little
Flowers of St. Francis” by Raphael Brown).
Anyone with common
sense knows - ‘Actions speak far louder than words alone’. In
practice that means one who lives like a Christian is far more
meritorious in the sight of the Lord than those who spend too
much time in the classroom and as a result have too little time
remaining to take their faith to the streets! Therefore, we spend
little time in the traditional classroom. . . the street is our
classroom! When, for God’s sake, one walks the hard road, that
person is flooded with wisdom without the necessity of having to
study the scriptures over and over and over again. That is because
the Lord is well-pleased with such a person, and therefore teaches
him directly, just like a Father teaches His cherished son.
In the eyes of the
Lord walking the hard road is a preferable way for us to receive His
wisdom than to study such wisdom by way of the printed word alone.
(Realize, when we read the books we are often learning from men who
have gleaned their wisdom from walking the hard road themselves!)
A 13th century
Franciscan Saint named Brother Giles confirmed the truth of my
proclamation by stating, “A man is only as wise as the truth he puts
into practice and no more.”
Sincerely, Daniel
Rosenblit
