The Church's Blind Spot
Do you
believe that the Bible has answers for all man’s problems???
Do you believe that the
Christians of today are different from the Pharisees in Jesus’
day??
I know that the Bible has
answers for all men’s problems plus I will prove
that most Christians of today are just like those Pharisees of
Jesus’ day, please read. . .
By the spiritual riddle I
am about to present to you, and the answer that 90% of
Christians give, I will prove the sad fact that most of the
Church members of today are similar to the Pharisees in the days
of Jesus. . . and since they learned their views from their
leaders, this reflects on the leadership as well
We all know that the Bible
says that it is better to marry than to burn. Sadly, the Bible
doesn’t inform us the reason that burning is so bad. . . that I
will do!
From the experience of a
man (myself) who had burned badly for many years (me), I will
enlighten those of you who haven’t experienced this problem;
married men or younger single men, and thus never fell into this
‘black-hole’ of sin. . . where I once was. Burning and then
subsequent massive repression is so bad because it ultimately
causes a man to be far more lusty. Oddly, the terrible
consequence of this behavior is exactly the same as one who
feeds the flesh!! The lust increases!!
Note: Remember, sex and
food are part of our nature, part of the way that God designed
us. One can drop addictions to strong drink, cigarettes, drugs,
etc. . . that is common place. But for a man to eradicate his
lust. . .for most married men who win this crown, it takes a
lifetime. Its a victory not won by many men.
Scenario:
A wheelchair-bound man who
burns in lust.
Since he is
wheelchair-bound its unlikely any woman will marry him.
Also we can use the example
of a man who is both very poor and also unattractive. . .
another example of someone who is very hard pressed to find a
mate
(Note: In the days the
Bible was written work was hard so women had to get married or
they would starve. In our era since we live in the age of
technology, women can also work, so they don’t need men> Thus,
many women chose to remain single. Thus, there are massive
amounts of burning men in society who can’t find a spouse!)
In order to remedy their
burning lust is it lawful for either of these men to go to a
prostitute /surrogate in moderation. . . say once / month???
(Note: Since he burns in
lust he is inwardly fornicating and committing adultery a good
portion of every day. By him having sex in moderation it will
greatly, greatly lessen this inward sinning.)
If you agree with most
Christians by saying they are not allowed, given a little
time I can prove that you are just like the Pharisee.
Before you give me your
answer recall the time that Jesus was healing on the Sabbath and
the Pharisees charged him with breaking the law.
(Myself being raised Jewish, I
know exactly the way the orthodox Jews believe and teach that
the Sabbath needs to be observed. Regarding work: If it takes
more effort that pulling a hair out of your head, its not
allowed! Some Orthodox Jews even hire gentiles to turn on the
lights, etc. and such things during the Sabbath; they are
called Shabbat Goys).
From their viewpoint when
Jesus healed on the Sabbath, he was surely breaking the letter
of the law.
Though recall what Christ
said in response to their charge, “The Sabbath was made for man,
man was not made for the Sabbath” In that statement Christ was
revealing to us God’s heart. Thus logic leads us to infer that
Christ is telling us that not only the Sabbath, but
all God’s
laws are designed by Him when practiced for the betterment of
mankind.
(Additionally, wherever
we have a difficult time keeping a law, it reveals to us our sin
problem).
These are God’s reasons
for giving us His laws. . ., we were never expected to
live for the benefit of the law. . . that was never God’s
intention.
If you fail to grasp this
point, you fail to understand God’s heart here, so the letter of
the law is all you’ve got! Jesus was unlike the teachers of the
law in that they had only the letter of the law, but He had the
spirit of the law.
{The letter killith, but
the spirit givith life}
Additionally in John 7:24
Christ states, “Judge not according to appearance, but judge
righteous judgment”
In our cases, adherence to
the letter of the law is not working for our clients’
betterment, but shockingly their detriment! Its having exactly
the opposite effect of its good intentions! Again, through
adherence to the letter of the law their sin condition worsens!!
Can’t you see that???
Sadly, adhering to the
spiritual direction that his Pastor is giving them, is making
their sin condition worsen!
For most of us to go to a
prostitute /surrogate would be a sin, but for burning men such
as these to do so in moderation would be medicinal for their
soul. Thus, shouldn’t someone in their shoes not only be allowed
to go, but encouraged? This is common sense.
When the Bible states, “The
letter killith, but the spirit givith life”. . . it is speaking
of situations such as this and the time that Christ healed on
the Sabbath.
Till one year ago I was a
full-time homeless street minister in the red-light district of
Amsterdam, Holland. About three years ago I was interviewing a
particular prostitute and she relayed an interested incident
that happened to her. This incident stuck with me and I believe
the Lord wants me to share it with the peanut gallery: A couple
of fellows brought in their friend who was wheel-chair bound.
It was the first time he had ever had sex; she remarked how
innocent he was.
After sex the man couldn’t
stop thanking her!
The million dollar question
is does that innocent handicapped fellow sound like a sinner on
his way to hell. . . or a man who is poor in spirit who has
perhaps released a great burden?
Do you have common sense?
The letter of the law
condemns our friend in the wheel chair to his own private hell,
the spirit allows his need to be met. Remember, don’t be so
quick to deny his meeting his need, because in this need he is
the ‘least of them’. Sadly the spiritual advice the Church has
given people like them, have made them worse. Its like such
uncomfortable matters have been swept under the carpet!
The Eternal One desires
matters such as this and other things dug up from under the
carpet and brought out into the light of day for all to see (and
the Church to deal with properly). The Church’s duty is to be
God’s visible earthly representative. . . reflecting his heart.
To properly deal with issues of faith such as this is part of
their sacred duty.
On another note many handicapped
people and some others with sexual problems have undoubtedly
perceived God as cold hearted and stoic, unresponsive to their
problem. This is the reflection of God that the Church has given
to them. This of course is a false reflection. The true Living
God is compassionate and kind to all those who struggle with
their flesh; especially the least of them!
As I have just shown to
you, the Bible does give a remedy for this fellow’s
dilemma. Sadly a remedy that the Church does not recognize.
The problem is when the
Bible mentions the ‘least of them’ of course it can only give a
‘partial list’. . . the hungry, the naked, the widow, the
prisoner, etc. (cause you can’t mention all of them). Sadly,
since most Christians don’t understand the spirit but only the
letter of the law, all of the ‘least of thems’ that are not
specifically mentioned get stuck out in the cold. . . with no
mercy.
I have written God inspired
papers on this subject if you care to read them; papers that God
wants the entire church looking at.
PS> Want to hear something
real crazy?
Since I have just written
this paper, so far I have posed this dilemma to one Pastor. He
unequivocally told me that the wheel chair man could not have
sex. He reminded me that its our sacred duty to crucify our
flesh (most of you probably agree with his assessment).
Later, he confided to me
that he himself was married, and that he didn’t have the gift of
celibacy! (probably, most of you are in his shoes). Thus, what
this Pastor is actually saying is that an unfortunate crippled
man in addition to his handicap ought to be given another great
burden (forced celibacy)! (My question is, “Do you still agree
with that Pastor’s assessment? If you do, I’m sorry to say that
you are a Pharisee!)
Never forget. . .
MERCY TRIUMPHS OVER JUSTICE (THE LAW)!
The Bible passage that
states, “There is no condemnation for those who are in
Christ” means that if one is coming for a place of
compassion and selflessness (such a Prostitute who is helping
men such as the two cases given in my examples), she is above
any law because. . .
MERCY TRIUMPHS OVER
JUSTICE (THE LAW)!
For reasons such as this
the gospels state, “The letter killith, but the spirit givith
life.”. . . shockingly with zillions of hours of Bible studies
behind them I’ve proven that the Church does not understand this
Bible verse. I understand it and I never went to Bible studies.
Why? Because I have suffered and this suffering has made me
humbled.
Without real humility one
has not the eyes to see the least of them.
I hope you have learned
something.
If you have, please let me
hear from you as I have far more to share.
Spiritual matters that the Lord wants the entire
Church taking a close look at.
Sincerely, Daniel Rosenblit
