Ross Douglas rants from beyond sanity
Here lies rock ‘n roll.

what happened to rock ‘n roll? good, old fashioned, balls out rock and roll?

where’s the modern day Jim Morrison? where’s the Jack Daniels swigging, acid fuelled rebel of the music scene?

where’s today's equivalent of Jimi Hendrix? where’s the guy who can make a guitar sound like a bird singing softly in a tree announcing a new day or make a noise that sounds like the creation of the universe?

where’s this generations Nick Drake? where's the man who sings a song so touching that you are moved to tears?

where are all the heroes of music played from the heart?
what do we have today that even comes close to rock and roll? nothing.
what do our kid’s have instead? soulless, spiritless, spineless sophomoric garbage that’s what.
mass produced pop bands that have less intelligence than creme caramel.
pre-pubescent pop pixies singing how no one understands them in their anguish filled world.
well here’s the news kids.... what you feel now, the feeling that no one understands what you think about anything, is exactly the same as everyone else felt at your age. it’s called development. get used to it ‘cos it don’t change much with time, you just learn to accept it as part of life.
you think you’re the first person who ever loved someone and it was unrequited?
you think that you’re the first person who ever looked at the world around you and wondered why humanity is anything but humane?
you think you’re the only person who ever considered suicide as a way out?
you think you’re the only person who is misunderstood by all around you?
you think you’re the only person who looks at the world and wonders why we are here and where we are headed?

put on your stereo at high volume, play some Jimi Hendrix or Janis Joplin and think again.
