This was just one of Rapids many Super Sport 70 Chevelles. This one had a 402 cubic inch, 4 speed combination and was obviously a SS convertible, which today is a very valuable ride! But back in this time frame the car was a hard runnin, bang shiftin machine that was a consistent mid to high 11 second screemer! This car would launch wheels up at 6500 rpm, with 5.38 gears and a super T-10 4 speed, power shifting at 6500 rpm was the norm. And open headers of course. Ah, the sweet sound of a big block power shifting, music to the ears!!

There he is rammin and jammin, Rapid 1 launching the beast on slick Westhampton starting line. This is one of the only pictures in existence taken with my pos camera. I have it in my photo album with a few others, now its on the world wide web for all to see!!

Wheeee, Bamm, bwwwwaaannnnngggg = 3rd gear...... haha, just foolin, the trans was "pro" shifted, syncros removed for power shifting only.
