Okay, this is my first tutorial, so don't kill me guys. Bear with me on this one. You guys will be making another firey text with this tutorial. It's fairly different from Scruffy's. So here we go:

Step 1.) Create a new image 600 px X 192 px. Transparent background, if you wish. You're going to change it either way.

Intro thingy
Step 2.) Press "D" on your keyboard to reset the colors. Then choose the fill tool Fill Tool and fill your image with a black background.

Step 3.) Now, get the text tool,Text Tool , and enter the text you would like to turn into flames. I'm going to choose my name, Aaron G. The below image is all your picture should look like now.

Step 2

Step 4.) Now goto Layer > Merge Down, or just press ctrl+E (I don't know what it is on mac). Now, Go to Filter > Stylize > Wind with the wind option from the left.

Step 3
Now, re-apply it using Ctrl+F.

Step 5.) Do step 4 again, but this time instead of choosing "From The Left" Choose "From The Right." And Re-apply it again. This is what you should have, thus far.

This is what you should have, thus far

Step 6.) Do this again vertically by going to Image > Rotate canvas > 90 CCW. Now repeat steps 4 (except for the merge layer part) and 5.

Step 7.) Fix your canvas rotation by going to Image > Rotate Canvas > 90 CW. This should straighten your work up.

Step 8.) Go to Filter > Blur > Gaussian Blur and set the "Radius" to "2.0"

Step 8b.)Then Filter > Distort > Ripple. Use the default settings.

Step 9.) Give the image some color by doing the following:
a) Image > Mode > Grayscale
b) Image > Mode > Indexed Color
c) Image > Mode > Color Table
d) Set the table to Black Body.

Step 10.) Now you just make it so you can see the words. Switch the colors on the color pallete like before, , then type out the same word and position it over the old text.
