Medford BMX Track News & Information
*Welcome to our BMX website! We are proud of our racers and developed this site to celebrate their accomplishments and inform ABA members with current events.

DIRECTIONS TO FACILITY:
Our facility is located in Bear Creek Park (1520 Siskiyou Blvd.park address, track is actually located on Highland Avenue)at Barnett exit (1-5 exit 27) heading east on Barnett to Highland Avenue, left on Highland, track can be seen from roadway with parking above at skatepark entrance & limited parking at track entrance through yellow barrier(plans for expanded parking in the works). Track conditions are well do to drainage and water runoffs included with track changes. Track is maintained on a weekly basis to provide safe & good quality conditions for every event held at Medford BMX.

TRACK REVIEW: Our track maintanance will continue throughout 2009. Eric Lindorf has been heading up track work parties and the track is showing major improvement.

Bear creek park is also seeing improvements with the expansion of the parking area which will eventually expand through the area behind start hill to the area between the dog park(soon to be waterpark) and us. The highway exit is also seeing major improvements with south 27 exiting to Highland Avenue. Can't get any easier than that! A bike bridge will soon be added over Barnett adding to the Bearcreek greenway.

ATTENTION!!!!
NEW ADDRESS; PLEASE SEND EMAILS TO THIS ADDRESS AS OUR OLD ADDRESS AT AOL HAS BEEN CANCELLED.I am also available at the track phone number day and night for anyone who needs to contact me. akinbmxing@embarqmail.com

Hogue Roofing Rocks!!
We received new structures at Medford BMX to house our registration and concessions by Hogue Roofing and we thank them for thinking of us when it came time to move the buildings. It is with the help of generous supporters like Hogue that we are able to complete needed upgrades to improve our area. Thank you so much from all of us at Medford bmx!

PROMOTION-PROMOTION-PROMOTION!!!
We have had a surge in membership thanks to special individuals who have stept up to promote our sport in Southern Oregon. Thank you to everyone who participated in the Pear Blossom Parade, we handed out over 2300 flyers! Top that, sure! Thank you to members who helped get 6500 flyers ready for sending to every student K-6 in the Medford School district. Thank you Chris Gallegos for meeting with the Medford school board to get our flyers approved and the gang at Riders Choice Bikes for sorting all 6500 to send to each classroom. I am so pleased with how our 2009 season is shaping up!

BMX Hot News! NATIONAL NEWS:

DEVASTATING INJURY SIDELINES HOMETOWN HERO...
It was very upsetting to hear of the injury Joshua Banuelos received while competing at Nationals in New Mexico. Many have been inquiring as to how he is doing. For those of you who don't know, he dislocated his hip and was in severe pain for longer than he should have been. The hospital had not seen such a drastic hip dislocation before and it took at least three physicians to put his hip in place.

He has since had surgery at Dornbeckers Hospital in Portland to remove tissue and set his hip. He is recovering with help from his family.

We all love and respect Joshua very much, not only for the athletic ability but he is a genuine and kind soul. From everyone at Medford bmx we wish him a full recovery.

JENIFER MANN
I have had the pleasure of having Jenifer Mann as one of our core Medford members and thank her for the generosity she has shown by raising $150.00 which she donated to the track along with raising $250.00 in ticket sales for the Race for Life. Awesome. Jenifer will also be graduating in the class of 2010. We wish her well.
