Malvern Prep Cross Country looks to be dominant in 2003 having their whole Varisty returning Kennedy (future senior), Grandi (future senior), Duffy (future sophomore), Danforth (future senior), and Martin (future senior). Not only will they return those 5 runners but will also get the luxury of acquiring Fordham (future junior-4:44 mile) , Winterhalter (future sophomore-10:48 2 mile), and hopefully a healthy Suchan (future junior-10:51 2 mile). Swerno will look to contribute if he competes in the races. They will improve greatly in the Inter-Ac and have a good shot to win it all. Germantown will give us a run for our money but we can overpower them with hard work.
Malvern finished 5th in Track Championships. Good races by Collins, Danforth, DiGiovanni, Duffy, Giacamucci, Haney, B Kennedy, T Kennedy, and Whaley.
Malvern Prep Cross Country finished with a poor 1-4 record in the Inter-Ac with its only victory over Chestnut Hill when they went 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8. Brian Kennedy lost to Evan Lodge although got redemption in the Inter-Ac Championships. Despite Malvern's 2nd to worst record, everyone put in tremendous preformances in the Inter-Ac Champs to get 3rd place out of 6 teams losing to Germantown and Penn Charter. Kennedy beat Lodge finishing in 3rd place and Lodge settled in at 4th. Mercado (PC) finished in 1st breaking the meet, course, and Inter-Ac record, and Sean Morgan (GA) 2nd. The great performances for Malvern Prep were Bill Grandi in 10th place with a time of 18:02, and freshman Brian Duffy in 16th with 18:31 and the top freshman in the league
