About Me

Hey, my name is Matt Clemerson.  I'm a student at Jefferson Community College in Kentucky.  I'm majoring in photojournalism, and I hope to produce a local skateboarding magazine after I finish school.  I've been skating off and on for about four years now.  Because I don't put enough effort into it, I decided that I'd take up photography.  I've been taking pictures passionately for a year or so.

Besides skateboarding and photography, I love music.  I listen to just about every type possible except for modern country and a lot of pop.  My favorite bands are Beastie Boys, 311, Rage Against the Machine, Led Zeppelin, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Good Charlotte.  They define my range of music styles that I enjoy because they incorporate many styles into their own.  Sometimes they are pure rap, and other times they're pure punk.  In between, though, they use jazz, funk, blues, and straight rock 'n roll to develop their sound.  I've attempted to play guitar, but never really became good at it, but I do have dreams of being in a band someday.

Skateboarding has been drastically rising in Louisville, and the only local "extreme" magazine widely offered  is Extremz.  Major magazines barely mention the skate scene, even with the new skatepark.   With a new skate 'zine, I hope to capture the scene and the passion of the skaters.  There are several good places to skate, excluding the new skatepark, and plenty of talent in Louisville.  Unfortunately, I haven't had the chance to meet many of the other skaters and photographers in Louisville.  If you are interested in the idea of producing a magazine, you can e-mail me at...
