Christmas Traditions (Circle of Love)

This holiday is the day of celebration that is for Jesus and His birth.
We celebrate how He came down and died for us on this sinful earth.
This unselfish and extremely painful act allowed us to be forgiven.
So that each one of our sins could be forever pardoned and forgotten.
I'm so grateful for this day, where families can come together
And how the love toward family members will always be forever.
One thing that I like about Christmas are the traditions we have had for years.
How we will laugh so hard, that upon our faces, you will see tears!
I enjoy the smell of home cooked meals from the food we've prepared,
And the gifts we give each other that are so generously shared!
I like how we share about the memories we've had and those to come!
I like the Christmas songs we always end up singing in a hum.
I delight in how we gather around the piano, as we sing from our heart.
And how it doesn't matter if we can't sing or from everyone else we are apart.
For in this circle of love that our family so naturally shares,
We know without a doubt that each member of the family cares!
I treasure each time we sit around the table and talk hour upon hour,
Or when we talk about when my mom was sick and of the Lord's great power.
I'm cherish the times we merely sit in the dining room or simply sit there quietly reading,
Or how we can look at each other and know exactly what the other is thinking!
It is one of the presents that comes with being blessed with a family,
And I am continually thankful for this circle of love that comes so ingenuously!
I like how when we arrive in Kansas there is a puzzle waiting to be done
And how we can celebrate the precious birth of God's only Son.
I've always enjoyed the times we get together and make Jennifer's favorite!
I like to think back about the many memories I've had and go over them bit by bit.
Relishing each second and ignoring the moment when we must again part.
But every year that time will eventually come around and over it we must not be torn,
For we need to remember that the next year we will again sit around and eat popcorn!
I'm writing down these memories so that these traditions will continue forever,
And that to be in this circle of love we share, you don't have to be wise or clever.
You just have to be you, and that will be the greatest gift ever!
