Twin Engined Pro-Karts

Twin engined Pro Karts are considered the next step-up from indoor karting. They are professional racing machines now recognised as the first step on the motor racing ladder.

They are powered by 2 x unrestricted 160cc Honda 4 stroke engines and whilst they are capable of speeds up to 70 mph, are very simple to drive with 2 pedal (brake and accelerator) operation.

Pos Number Driver Laps Down Gap Fastest Lap Picture Comments
1 3 Joe Consiglio 22     0:51.86 Experience won him Pole Position, the Race, Fastest Lap and Free Entry into the Next Round. Need we say more?
2 5 Abi Esfahani 21 1 Lap 0:15.54 0:53.24 Very good performance, setting the 2nd fastest laptime in the race. Finished 1 lap and 15 seconds behind winner J Consiglio. Did well to finish 2nd after qualifying in 4th. He lived upto his nickname "The Iranian Assassin" by taking out Brunskill as he saw him as a threat.
3 4 Adam Cunliffe 21 1 Lap 0:26.27 0:54.57 Great effort. Had to start at the back of the grid, after a collision with Rimmer in qualifying sent him into a large puddle, this covered him from head to toe in mud! 4th fastest laptime and no spins helped him to a well deserved 3rd place.
4 2 Paul Rimmer 20 2 Laps 0:05.15 0:53.63 The Star of qualifying was having a solid race right until the end, were he decided he would take an early shower and not bother with the last lap. The consequences of Rimmer forgeting the last lap ment that he finished the race in 4th place, when it seemed like he was on course for a certain 2nd.
5 8 Rob Pugh 20 2 Laps 1:31.71 0:57.78 After a nightmare qualifying session, Pugh got his head down and raced on to 5th place. Possibly had his head down too much, as he failed to avoid a 50 mph head on collision with Simon Consiglio! Pugh failed to hit the brakes and totalled Simon Consiglio's Go-Kart.
6 11 Jason Poole 20 2 Laps 0:04.67 0:54.79 On the first lap Poole decided to become better acquainted with a patch of grass at turn 2. However quickly made up alot of places, finishing in 6th position and setting 5th best laptime on the way.
7 1 Michael Woodhead 19 3 Laps 0:09.69 0:58.88 Michael was very consistant throughout the whole race and greatly benefitted from others spinning off in front of him. He managed to improve on his lonely qualifying position and finish a solid 7th.
8 12 Simon Consiglio 19 3 Laps 0:45.36 0:58.41 As high as 5th at one point during the race. Span on "The Esses" bend and was promptly hit, head on, at 50 mph by Pugh. Consiglio Jnr coasted to the pits in his totalled go-kart, and when the marshall realised his kart was "knackered" he had to finish the race in a different kart. This lost him alot of time and he finished in 8th place.
9 7 Liam Rickards 18 4 Laps 0:20.40 0:57.11 Qualified a superb 3rd place. But in the race Rickards aka Pickards, became best friends with the kerbs. After a collision on the last lap, he followed Rimmer into the pits a lap early for an early shower also! Set 6th fastest lap which shows that he was capable of finishing higher than 9th.
10 9 Simon Barrie 18 4 Laps 0:40.15 1:01.37 His style of racing earned him the nickname 'The Human Tortoise', however slow and steady only won him 10th place. Admitted afterwards 'Driving is not my strong suit'.
11 6 Lee Hodgkinson 17 5 Laps 0:05.11 0:58.39 Forgot his glasses which might explain his 11th place finish. However it seems spins were the main reason for this, as he managed to set the 8th fastest lap.
12 10 Michael Brunskill 17 5 Laps 0:48.13 0:59.59 Qualified well and was up to 5th by the 2nd corner. However Brunskill was furious at Esfahani for sending him into a wall at high speed. Eventually he emerged from the carnage and the only thing that was hurt was his pride, thanks to his collision with the wall Brunskill's race had been ruined after a losing a full lap.
