A long time ago, when I’d think about what a Christian was, I’d think of someone like a pastor-kind, caring, full of love-but I later realized, there was more to being a Christian than that. If there wasn’t, then anyone could be a Christian, I mean…There are some ppl that don’t go to church or even know about God, but they are nice ppl and don’t really seem to have faults. So, what makes a Christian, a Christian? Simply this: A Christian is someone that has accepted Christ as his or her one tru savior. Once that is done, they must become, “Christ like.” Sounds difficult don’t it? Well, it is. I don’t want to say it’s easy, because that’d be a lie. To become Christ like, you have to do ur best, possibly more than ur best, to follow Christ in everything. Not only that, when you are Christ like, ppl will know. They’ll see a difference in you. Some ppl will even have a problem with it and make fun of you and try to put you down…it’s already happened to me. If you aren’t a Christian and ur reading this, I’m not trying to scare you away, I’m simply stating the facts. Before you run off though (if that’s what u were planning on doing) please keep reading. There may seem to be “down sides” to being a Christian, but there are benefits, and they totally out way the not so fun parts.

Benefits:
When you become a Christian, the Bible tells us “Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God” John 1:12. What does this mean? It means that once you are saved, once you’ve received Christ into your life, you become a child of God. I know, I know, as teens most of us can’t stand it when we’re called, “kids” but being a child of God is different. When I think back to that verse, I remember that God is our father, and he will protect us from what he knows we can’t handle. Whatever situation we find ourselves in, even if it seems impossible to get out of, God will helps us thru.
Not only do we become a child of God, but we also become Christ’s friend. John 15:15 says: “I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you.” So you gain a Father, and you gain a friend, what more could you ask for right? Don’t get too excited just yet though. There’s still more.
He becomes your companion even during those times you feel no one loves you. If you allow him, he will fill the empty spot that you have during the time that you wait for the person you marry. He’ll be ur lover. Ok, so, you can’t go make out with God, but that’s not what’s important. It’s the emotional support u get from that special guy/girl. That’s what God will give you during ur single life. And unlike a b/f or g/f, God won’t leave you, or cheat on you. He’s with you forever. Who could possibly be better than that?

Becoming a Christian:
Ready to become a Christian yet? I have typed up a little prayer for you. This isn’t something you find in a book and you do now have to use this prayer word for word. This is just a prayer to help you how to pray for salvation.

Dear Lord,
I realize that I am a sinner and that the only way to heaven is through you. I ask that you come into my heart and cleanse me of all my sins. Thank you Jesus.
Amen

If you asked Christ into you heart today, please, let me know. The Bible says, “In the same way, I tell you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents” in Luke 15:10. So every time a person is saved, all of Heaven rejoices. Therefore, if you just receive Christ into your heart, all the angels are rejoicing because YOU are now a member in the body of Christ. Welcome to the family!
