The pictures on this page are a few photos I took on my trip out west in October 2002.
They were taken with a Honeywell Pentax Spotmatic. f/1.8 55mm lense (also a Pentax).
The South Dakota Badlands on a grey day.
Note the mountian sheep on the ledge.
This is my personal favorite of the three. I had to enhance the color a bit, but it gives the best portrayal of the Badlands.
Awe-inspiring Devil's Tower in Wyoming.
An aspen in the height of its radiant color is the foreground here.
Horseshoe Creek bends through this valley in Estes Park, Colorado.
Of the two, I like this one the best.
Above the valley and Horseshoe River.
"How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news, who proclaim peace, who bring good tidings, who proclaim salvation, who say to Zion, "Your GOD reigns!!!" - Isaiah 52:7
This is Bear Lake, the first lake we saw on our hike in the Rockies.
Nymph Lake, twenty minutes up the trail, is covered with lilly pads of all sizes!
"You will go out with Joy and be lead forth in peace; the mountains and the hills will burst into song before you, and all the trees of the feilds will clap their hands." - Isaiah 55:12
After several miles of hiking through snow, mud, and beautifully clear, pine-scented air we made it to Emerald Lake!
Emerald Lake: Known for it's jade and emerald colored waters, it was at its brightest this windy day.
On our hike back I snapped this photo - I angeled too much towards the sun though...
Winding as far as the snow allowed us on this day, our final destination was a windswept point overlooking this mountian.
No words can describe the tremendous impact George Washington had in the shaping of the United States of America!
The lighting of Mt. Rushmore - It's beautiful at night!
No matter how many times you see it, it's amazing to be at Mt. Rushmore in person.
It's about lighting and perspective!!!
