Tips and Cheats

Find and Loot your corpse:
Use the /loc command to bring up your coordinates and note what thay are when you are very close to death. After ressurection, head for the coordinates you got earlier you may need to use the /loc command to find the right direction so you can get back to your hard earned trophies. You don't need to reach the exact spot, close enough is sufficient to use the /corpse command.

Improve your Faction Standings:
One important thing to take into consideration is your faction standing and keep an eye out for when this changes. An easy way to improve your standing is to kill a paricular factions enemy for instance if you are an Ogre and you kill enough Gnolls then you stand a better chance of being alowed into human cities without being attacked by the city guards.

Venture Capital:
Are you new to the game and need a quick way to get money for a new weaponor spell? go to the wizards guild in south qeynos and around the back to a wizard called Catastrophur. Ask him "Who is Neclo?" and he will give you a note to give to his friend Neclo, in Qeynos Hills. Neclo can be found near the only guard tower in Qeynos Hills. Give him the note and he will give you experiance Points, Faction, and a spell that can be sold in Qeynos for 3.5pp. For a quick profit, this Quest can be done repeatedly by anyone.

Snake eggs are food:
Next time you can find milk or bread so you can eat well, try eating some snake eggs. You cant get any cheaper then that.

Ride a Dragon:
It is extreamely hard to do, but it is possable to ride a dragon in Everquest. First you need to deplete the last 25 percent of the dragon's single-handedly; this will subdue the dragon instead of killing it, at which point the subduer can teleport to an adjacent zone and mount the creature.

Campers and Stealers:

Sure there are jerks in Everquest, but unless your playing in PVP (Player VS Player) mode, thay can't do a lot to you- and you can ignore what thay say. The biggest complaint that most people have is about "kill stealers" and campers. Becuase the character that deals the killing blow gets the exp and first crack at the treasures, kill stealers come along and finnish off a creature someone else is battleing to reap the rewards. Campers are players who stay in the same spot significant lengths of time and wait for cratures or a certain item to spawn, which may conflict with other players goals.

Turn up the Gamma Levels:
This is a bit sneaky, but if you're haveing trubble seeing wgere to go in the pitch black of night, simply turn up the Gamma levels in the display options for Glow-In-The-Dark Graphics.

Taunting Monsters:
Use the taunt command to distract monsters while you're fighting them, particularly if you're battleing within a group. This will give your teammates time to get into possition.

Warriors who sew:
If you are a warrior type class, put a point or two into tailoring at each level. At about level four or five, make your self a complete set of armor. you wont regret it.

Rogue's secret economy:
If you take on the hard life of a Rogue, you must learn the secret to dealing with. Most merchants won't sell to a Rogue (probably something about his reputation of character). Well, what thay don't know wont hurt them! Go behind a merchant (Out of his line of sight) and use the sneak skill, then click the merchant. The merchantt will sell to you and buy from you without ever knowing your a Rogue.

Keep your weapons sharp:
You can buy a sharpeinging stone to fix any rusty swords you pull off defeated skeletons. Thay will be changed to tarnished and with enough skill you can change tarnished to new. But beware: If you fail in your attampt, you will lose the weapon. So if you need practice, just use the rusty swords you get from the skeletons. All it will cost you is the price of the sharpining stone. Click the left mouse button on any forge (thay are all over town), the place the sword and the sharpining stone in the slots and press combine.

Hunting Tip to get you started:
If you are level 4, you can make 30-50pp per hour selling crushbone belts droped by the orc centurions in the crushbone zone.

Hunting Tip for level 19:
If you are level 19, Hunt evil eyes in the beholder zone. Thay drop polished bone bracers evry 3 hours, which are selling for 30pp as of friday, May 9 2003.

Avoid XP loss apon death:
Note: this will only work on the Rallos Zek server.
When you are about to die, or if you know you are going to die and want to save yourself the XP loss, try to kill yourself via fall damage. If you die from fall damage you will not lose XP on Rallos Zek server. Another way is to drown, however that is much more difficult to pull off.
