| ALTERNATE STRATEGY TO SOLOING IN UNREST 20-40 - Dakaminy, Rallos Zek |
| A very useful and overlooked spell is spook the undead. It is a 10 mana spell that will send your undead friend off in a hurry. You'll need your 2 best heals memorized (or greater healing and holy might if 24+), root/enstill, your 2 best undead spells, divine aura/barrier (both if possible) and spook. To use this, I suggest you be high enough that yard trash (anything smaller than a ghoul) will not train on you. Grab something from the house, you may have to use a soothe/calm line of spells to get a pull you can take. Run out down the path to the first corner on your way to zone past the fountains or to the left side of the house in unrest. Then turn around quick (you can do this with or w/o sow, with is recommended as ghouls can root) and fear that baddy. Strategy if you're by the zone/fountains: spook, blast, run towards it, blast, blast again if you can, otherwise go back to your spot, you don't want to get too close to the house or you'll fear it into the house (baaaaaaaaad), otherwise it usually runs along the left wall by the hedges. Repeat this process until it's dead, use your small undead if you need to get it down a bit so it'll start running in which case you can melee it to death.
Pull through the left door, open the door and run DOWN THE STAIRS, do NOT run over the railing, this will lead to your eventual zoning if you're under level 28-30 as it'll train the entire backside of the house because it will run out the back door. After you reach the middle of the field on the left side, spook your target and it will run along the wall then the hedges then the house wall trying to go back inside. DO NOT let it get back inside, root it if it gets near, usually the spook will wear off before it makes it. Use your judgement here, a little trial and error as it's hard to explain exactly how to do it w/o showing you. Spook, blast, blast, blast, when it comes for you, spook, blast, blast (should be dead now). During this, you'll want to be standing in the middle of the left field rotating while casting each time, you'll see when you try, it's really easy and usually someone can help if you go oom or it resists a couple spooks in a row. Spook is also great for groups as if you pull too many. You can just use 10 mana to rid your party of a couple extra pulls until you can handle them. Beware of where you do this though, on the backside or right side of the house you'll be shouting train before you know it or cussing when you're ghoul-rooted and 8 things are beating you down (can we say invulnerability?). This is the same strategy for spectres, just in unrest. =) I tried to solo the hag last night, I was unsuccessful 3 times in a row, so I suggest not fighting her unless your sv cold is 80+. I have 192wis right now (1212 mana - not twinked thank you) and I went oom because I had to use a lot of mana healing myself because of her cold based spells. (grr) I did get her down to 20%, so she's soloable at 30 too. Be sure to use holy might to stop her casts and you'll live longer than 20seconds, a sow is nice too if you want to run to zone if you really really need to to heal yourself, but this is not advisable as you'll probably get someone killed. For you higher levels wanting to fight bats, terrors, and mushrooms, I suggest inspite fear and wrath, you know the rest. =) I also for got to mention that you can solo on the left wall if you have a sow, just run to the north wall (think it's north), start casting, turn around and hit it, run to the hedges, turn around while casting, hit it, repeat until it's dead. This also works by the fountains and in the corridor to the zone, but I recommend the spook tactic. Remember, holy might stops hag slayings, divine aura/barrier is a SYA spell, spook is a great spell. Hope this helps everyone and this formats right!
