Disclaimer: I do not think as a cleric you should go from 1 to
60 solo. In fact, I think if you do, you are missing the whole
point of being a cleric. The following solo spots are only for
those days when you've gotten so sick of pick-up groups that you
feel the need to pull your hair out, or can't find a group at
all. Soloing all the way through these levels are a bad decision
because you don't learn how to be a team player.
That said, let's get to business...
Level 4 to 7:
Skunks, snakes, bats (in that order) in Butcher Block mountains.
Things to watch out for:
Wandering golins, the occational insane dorf (what's his name?)
and the ogre (can't remember his name either).
Level 7 to 9:
Skellies at druid port in BB. Good thing about this is that often
kind druids will see you fighting them, and help you by throwing
buffs on you.
Things to watch out for:
Don't pull the skellies too close to each other... they'll aggro
you.
Level 9 to 12 or so:
Past the mino cave in Steam Front are 5 static skelly spawns. You
can go from one spawn to the next, medding where you killed the
skelly before moving on to the next.
Things to watch out for:
Diseased rats have a tendancy to gang bang you, so if one jumps
you move up on the wall to fight it. If you see the Hero, RUN.
Elementals also aggro on you.
Level 12 to 19:
Bandits in West Karana.
Things to watch out for:
I couldn't solo these very well, and died often, due to them gang
banging me. However, a druid pulling with Harmony and I grouped
up worked very well. After the regular bandits started greening
out the Thugs are still blue. Fear/snare.
Level 19 to 28:
The hermit in South Karana. FEAR FEAR FEAR!!! Since he's going to
be yellow to you at first do NOT let fear drop. You will be one
dead cleric if you do. Clear your target. Say 'I will kill you'
right against the wall, next to the chimney. Once he hits you,
he'll be targeted. Move back from wall. Try to get a nuke in
before he gets to you, because he stays stuck in the house a
second. Fear. Nuke/melee. Loot is pretty decent here, and by the
time you've med up, it's time to kill him again. Try to have it
timed so that you pull him before he cast a damage shield on
himself. Otherwise you might think about pulling him with a
dispell instead of a nuke.
Things to watch out for:
Don't med up against the walls surrounding his house. Gnolls and
lions and such will aggro through the walls.
Level 19 to 28:
If you ever get bored of the tedium of Hermit camp, you can go
solo the named prisoner in HHK too. No loot, but sometimes you're
going to need a break from the Hermit.
Things to watch out for:
Only thing to watch out for is make sure you kill the prisoners,
or else they gang bang you.
Level 30ish to ?: (Don't remember what level I was.)
Goblins in Lookout Room in High Hold Keep. There's a 2 spawn in
this room. In order to break it pull goblins by rooting one. The
other will chase you. Run upstairs, pass bank, run up another
flight of stairs. Open door on left in hallway where chick sells
jewels. In that room there is a wizzy type guy. Hide behind him
until gobbly dead. Once goblin is dead, run back down the stairs,
back down to look out room. By this time root has broken on first
gobblin. Kill him as slowly as possible without dying yourself.
Room is broken. Proceed to root and nuke each goblin to death.
Good thing about this room is you pretty much stay out of the way
of trains coming through from the other 3 rooms.
Things to watch out for:
Keep room broken... otherwise you're going to have two mad
gobblins on you.
Level 35 to 44:
Tree Spec in Feerott. Fear/undead nuke/nuke/undead nuke/nuke.
Repeat until dead. Med up, and wait for next to spawn. Some of
these are going to be yellow to you. You might want some help.
Great loot though.
Things to watch out for:
Spec trains from idiots pulling from the spec caves.
Level 44 to 48:
Happ in Lesser, right next to Steam Front zone. I waited until I
was 44 (new DD) to come here, but I watched a level 42 cleric
kill her pretty easily. The good thing about this spawn is that
if anything goes wrong, you can get to a zone very quickly. Most
important thing about this camp is engaging her in combat before
she makes a pet. The good thing about this camp is there is no
faction loss. The bad thing is there is also no loot at all. Be
prepared to be broke for several levels.
To break spawn: Buff yourself with Valor, AoP, AoF, magic resist,
fire resist, and symbol. (You don't have to keep symbol up once
the camp is broken... this is just for the initial break. ) Mem 2
stuns, a nuke, root, and atone. Nuke Happ, *immediatly* target
pet, root pet, target Happ, nuke/stun/nuke/stun (repeat until
dead.) Now cast atone on her pet several times until he poofs.
Her spawn is 5 minutes 40 secs, so you have plenty of time to med
up between spawns. Once the camp is broken you only need to keep
Valor/AoF/sv magic/sv fire up. You can let all the other buffs
drop, as she shouldn't ever get near you, if you keep her
stunned.
Level 48:
I grouped up with guild mates in Old Sebillis in the crypt room.
My God, was that fun. Lots of loot, and 4 yellow bubbles in one
day. But please, please don't come here with a pick up group. You
will be very likely to die repeatedly if you try.
Level 49+?:
Cyndrella in Feerott next to Fear portal. I'm only 49, and I am
sooo close to being able to solo her, but I always run OOM before
she dies. The problem is her fast spawn time. A level 45 cleric
and I took her very easily, and a level 47 rogue and I took her
very easily. To get to her you have to first fight your way
through the spec cave. If you get gang banged, and start a train,
run out of the cave and die please. Please don't train everyone
in the zone who are killing specs. Bind nearby so in case you
need to gate, or die, it won't be a long run back to spec cave.
Now... where where we? Oh yeah... fighting our way to Cindy. Once
you find the secret entrance to the spec cave hug the right wall.
You might try IU but the specs saw right through it on me, and I
had to kill each and every one of them all the way to her. Now...
once you've gone all the way in, you see a dead end in front of
you. It's another secret wall... walk through it. Now waste all
your mana on killing the stupid yard trash drybone skellies. The
next step is very important... are you listening to me? MED TO
FULL! I don't care if you have to kill specs and dry bones all
day long until you get enough of a break to med up, but this is
your last chance to get full mana, so you better take it.
Are you full mana? You sure? Ok... let's kill Cindy. Target pet.
Root pet. Target Cindy. Stun/nuke/stun/nuke/stun... wash, rinse,
repeat. I personally don't bother with melee any more, but if you
happen to be one of those people that do, you're going to want to
dispell her first. She's got a damage shield up. Now kill pet.
Now go up to the fear portal.
***DO NOT ACCIDENTALLY GO THROUGH PORTAL!!!!!***
Sit to side of portal where the scepts and skellies won't agro
you. Wait 5 minutes. Kill her again before she puts up a damage
shield or spawns a pet.
Thing to watch out for:
I've talked to several people who have soloed her through their
50's. None of them had this experiance, but I did hear a rumor
that Cindy can actually fear you into running into the Fear
portal. If you die in fear, you are screwed, so please, please
have gate memmed. If you go through the portal, do not pass go,
do not collect 200 dollars, just GATE!!! I don't care that you're
going to have to fight your way all the way back to her, please
just trust me.
She's feared me a couple of times... another reason why it's good
to have someone else there to help out, but that's why you have
your magic resist buff up, to prevent that as much as possible.
Once fear wears off, run back up to her, and get revenge.
Let me repeat myself once more in case you didn't hear me the
first time. Don't accidentally run into the fear portal. If
there's no one up there, you might be faced with a lost corpse.
Cindy is a level 45 necro. So... I'm not sure how long you can
solo her. I personaly plan to stay there for a while.
Anyway. If you're going to solo, that's where I went when I felt
the need to do so. But once again, let me remind you that a
cleric is a group class... and I think if you try to solo all the
time you're going to do more harm to yourself than good. Learn to
be a good group player... but don't let the lack of a group keep
you from getting exp.
