Adventures

There are two types of adventures you can do in Lost Dungeons of Norrath. Small Party and Raid. Small Party are single group adventures for 4 - 6 people. Raid Adventures are for 18 -36 people. Keep in mind the difficulty of the mission is determined by the total number of levels of the people involved. So a 6 man adventure of 6 x Level 65 players (390) is significantly easier than that of an 18 person group (1170).
However, the items which are received on a raid are also dependent on the difficulty of the adventure. So 6 level 65 players will receive appropriate items for their level, as will 6 level 20 characters receive items (and a difficulty) appropriate for their level.
Also keep in mind that the total range of your group cannot exceed 7 levels. So if you have a Level 65 in the group the lowest level character you can include is a Level 58. If you have a Level 20 in the group, the highest you could have is a Level 27.
Raids
Raids are not playable by characters less than Level 60. These are specifically designed and tailored for high level characters. Characters of mid to lower levels can only do the small party adventures.
There are 12 unique Raid Recruiters found throughout the 5 LDON camps. Each of these will only give you one raid every five days. So in total you can only do 12 raids every five days. If you are in a raid group and one or more of the members has already done a raid from that NPC within the last 5 days you will be notified of their names so you can remove them from your raid group and continue with the raid.
Everyone participating in a Raid must have completed two adventures in the same theme in order to participate. So if want to do an adventure in Takish-Hiz, every member of the adventure would have to have successfully completed 2 Takish-Hiz related small party adventures. Once the raid has been successfully completed, you won't be able to do it again for five days.
Adventure Types
Once you have your group formed (you must be in a group to do adventures), you can then choose the type of adventure you would like. There are a number of different ones which you can do:
| Assassinate | Kill a specific NPC boss mob. Boss mob spawns when 60% of the NPC's in the dungeon are killed. |
| Collect | Get X number of items from NPC corpses. |
| Rescue | Find an NPC, clear an exit path for them and guide back to the entrance. NPC won't leave until 60% of the NPC's in the dungeon are killed |
| Lay Waste | Kill X number of enemy NPC's. |
The missions aren't specifically named this however, you will need to read through the mission as it is presented to you by the recruiter. If you wish to do another type of mission simply click on the 'Decline' button and then try again until you get a mission you would like. You can also choose between easy missions and hard missions.
Once you receive the mission you have 30 minutes to prepare your group, find the adventure dungeon entrance and begin. Typically once you begin you have 1 hour and 30 minutes to complete the adventure. If you wipe out more than once you will generally be in a tough spot to finish it on time. Finishing the mission within the time limit will give you the maximum number of reward points. You will get a lesser amount if you finish it within 30 minutes of the time limit expiring. If you have still not finished within this time the adventure will be terminated, all players and their corpses still in the adventure dungeon will be teleported outside to the adventure dungeon entrance and no points will be awarded.
Note that these adventure types do not relate to raids. Raid Types have their own specific set of adventures which can have multiple victory conditions.
At any time you can press Alt-V (unless otherwise mapped) to bring up your adventure window. This will tell you the details of the mission, how much time you have left to complete it and some other details.
Adventure Reward Points
The primary reward from completing a mission is the Adventure Reward Points received. You will get drops off NPC's as you progress through the dungeons of course. These are, as we stated above, determined by the dungeon and the difficulty level of your adventure. The number of points you receive also varies based on the difficulty level. So a group of 6 Level 65 characters will receive more adventure points for completing a mission than 6 Level 20 characters will.
Using your adventure points you can purchase a variety of different items or spells for your character. Some of these are common to all the various Adventure Reward merchants in the various camps, there are also however unique items for each camp.
When you right click on an adventure merchant to purchase an item you will see the items that merchant has available. Note that there are two columns of points displayed on this menu. The left column is the total number of points you have earned from adventuring in this dungeon. Based on this number new items will become available to you as you adventure more in a particular area. The right column reflects the number of points you have to spend currently on items.
