My two cents about my experience with Crayfish.
In most pictures you will see how I have learned to hold a Crayfish properly, without getting pinched.
Should the Cray pinch you don't panic, and don't try to pull it off as the legs are very fragile and will pull off easy.
That too I have learned the hard way!!!
The best way is to immerse the cray back in to the water and he will let go.

This is an Alleni I have raised. This is basically how you should hold a Crayfish.

The Cray will let you hold him or her like this also.
They do learn to trust you!!

Sitting pretty on the counter top.

A Virilis kept in a bucket, I have not had these for a very long time.
At first I was not able to pick them up at all,
now they are fairly tame and hardly ever give me any trouble at all.

Here you will see on a "larger scale" how to hold a Crayfish so he will not get hurt or pinch you.
