The Reason I call my mustang the unicorn is really actually quite funny. The car started out as a pretty much stock mustang. After i drove the mustang a while (1 month) i decided to add a supercharger. Actually i was given a supercharger (friends at Blacks). Well that modification lasted a couple months until i threw the Harmonic Balancer. Knowing that the engine had nearly 90k miles i decided to look into a new motor. The initial plans called for a 331 stroker with an incon twin turbo kit. Velocity began calling around to all the best engine builders and found one that was better than the rest(American Motorsports). In the meantime my balls must have grown a couple of pounds, b/c by the time the engine order was filled out i had a fully built 383 stroker kit (based on a 351). Since none of the engine parts were truly "off the shelf parts"the engine took some time to build.
There is that evil word "TIME" again.
In that time I decided to go ahead and use a Vortech on the motor instead of a turbo setup. I ended up trading my vortech A-Trim head unit for a brand new, tad-bit larger T-Trim head unit with vortech's trade in program. I also decided to go ahead and upgrade the brakes to something that would slow the car a little better. With all of the modifications and custom work that was done resulted in my car being in the shop for quite some time. Infact some friends and family didnt believe it existed anymore (or so they said), and me and Silas at the shop would joke around about how the second i get the car out of the shop i will be driving down the road and hit a unicorn. Well that unicorn name stuck and i ended up making a billet horn and mounting it on the front mustang emblem on the car, essentiall creating a unicorn.. Neadless to say, I now have a 600rwhp daily driven mustang that has 1000hp potential with the swap of a pulley.
