adventures in kenora
kenora kenora kenora. what to say about kenora. damn funny times i can say that much. put jackie, amanda, and ashley together for a weekend and look what you've done. you have begun the terrorizing of kenora!
friday:
well me and amanda went out to kenora for a sail weekend and we stayed at ashley's place. so its friday night and we wanted to do something. what better to do than walk accross town to joy's house! so ashley, amanda, coffee and me began our hike. but first we went to go see jesus in a tree. they kept on talking about it so we were like we have to see this. so it was this statue of jesus that the tree had grown around. so it was jesus in a tree! well after we checked that out ashley was looking back and talking to us while we were walking. not looking infront of her, she trips over this passed out bum. pretty funny i think. so we're walking down these streets and we decided to copy ashley's bf and take all these howard hampton signs. they were political signs for some guy that was running in kenora. so we were running around stealing these signs until each of us had one. then we walked over to the bridge and chucked them in the creek. goodtimes.
anyhow after that we were walking down the highway and we decided to stop at mcdicks cause we had some hungry ppl amongst us. i spent approx. 5 bucks there, then we got our food and started walking down the highway again. now i kid you not, about 2 minutes into our journey after going to mcdicks i see this thing on the side walk. everyone had walked past it already except for me. i could have swore it looked like a 5 dollar bill so i just HAD to stop and walk back to see what it was. lucky enough it was! 5 free bucks! how sweet is that. i personally thought it was great lol.
moving on, there happens to be rocks in kenora. coming from winnipeg and living there all my life, we dont have very many rocks. like big rocks. so i asked ashley, i was like does anyone ever climb on these rocks? she was like well no not really... theres the one rock by the lake that we sometimes jump off but thats about it. well for some reason i got this strong desire to climb this friggin rock so that i did. how exciting. i thought my night couldn't get any better! well it just kept coming...
a little further down the highway we see another howard hamton sign. a big one. so me and coffee decided to jump through it together. for some reason i was expecting this huge impact when i hit it so i kinda threw my weight into it. shouldn't have done that. wow. right after we went through the cardboard i fell on my ass hard. well mainly my hip but yeah. i looked very graceful i'm sure. so that was fun, we were on the other side of the highway then because we had to cross the street to get to the sign. well the other side of the highway has bushes by it and stuff. so what does jackie see, a deer! my first reaction was to chase it. dont ask me why, but it just was. so off i went chasing this damn deer. i dont think i've ever been that close to a deer before. it was a life changing experience. anyway finally we get to joy's road. ashley was saying something about the huge mcdonals billboard that happened to be right beside us, so of course we had to go check it out. so me and amanda still have our mcdonalds drinks in our hands so what better to do than to get our picture taken infront of the mcdicks billboard! i will forever treasure those pictures... wherever they are.
so the next stop was at the stop sign. (haha) but really, we stopped, not cause we had to beacuse we were on foot, but because jackie wanted to! i kicked a few bricks away and that stop sign was mine baby. might i mention it was from a church. going to hell. lol. for so long i've wanted to steal a stop sign just for the hell of it. well i finally did. it was wonderful. so we're walkin down the road with me carrying this huge stop sign (the pole was still attatched) and this truck drives by and then stops. apparently ashley knew them so we got a lift the rest of the way to joy's. chucked the stop sign in the back and hopped in. we arrived at joy's and everyone was like sweet! you stole a stop sign! and we took it off the pole in joy's garage. we stuck around for a while, had a few shots but we had to leave because we had an early morning the next day.
saturday.
well i didn't find any money saturday and i didn't chase any deer but i chased other animals! emus and lamas to be exact. but i'll get to that later.
the night started off by ashley's bf picking us up and driving us to joy's. so we're all hanging out and somehow we made it outside to joy's patio area. so these guys are cooking these steaks so we're like ok thats cool, and jamie asked us if we wanted one so me and amanda just split one. so we're eating this steak some sometime during that we found out the steaks were stolen. lol seriously, who steals steaks? i happened to think it was quite funny that they'd steal that many steaks. but damn that was so good stolen steak. anyway we're just sitting there after and joy was like you want a shot? to me and amanda, so hell we wern't gonna turn it down. so we had a shot that was ok, then she asked us again and of course we said yes. then a while later she just starts pouring these shots and giving them to us without us even asking or anything. so funny. and you should have seen this girl drink too. wow wee.
so joy's sister finally gets back and we go visit with mary for a bit and then off to the emus it was! so i had no idea where we were going, it was pitch dark and you couldn't see anything infront of you but i'm assuming it was part of joy's back yard. so we get to these emus and i was like omg! emus! cause i've never seen them before. so i wanted to get closer to them but it was super muddy cause it was raining the whole day. so there are these rafter type things that wern't to high, so i jumped up and started "swinging" from them so my shoes woudln't get super muddy. amanda says i looked like george of the jungle but i beg to differ. anyhow it was hilarous. i got to pet these things and everything. but they made really funny noises and i think they were really scared. but i dont think it helped that jamie was provoking one of them with a glow stick. oh well. so we had our fun with the emus and off to the lamas it was. we couldn't get very close to them tho cause it was like knee deep mud so we just all climbed up on this huge pile of hay and were sitting there. all was fine until these huge things of hay started to fall and ppl were landing in the mud. so i ended up sliding between the hay and this metal bar which hurt like hell, and this other guy i forget who, fell face first into the mud. so funny. so we ditched that pretty quick but were waiting for ppl to get off this roof. so i'm standing somewhat beside this roof when i feel this heavy object hit my leg. someone fucking dropped their 40 on me. bastards. oh well. we had one final visit with mary in this car, whether or not it belonged to anyone or if it was just there i dont know. but that pretty much ended our night up and we headed home. good ol' kenora.
