Radiator and Fuel Line Procedure

Well now that all the hard stuff is done it's time to rig up some kind of radiator hose for the top and bottom.  Obviously GM Performance parts didn't make radiator hoses for a 2.8 Chevette so you have to make some.

I went to the local junk yard that supplied all the parts for this project, R&R Salvage, and walked the yard for about 2 hours just gathering different assortment of radiator hoses.  I also had a piece of flex radiator hose laying around the garage so I kept that in mind.  After lots of cutting and thinking I came up with what worked best.  Of course I did not find one that fit with out splicing, so what I had to do was take a piece of 1 1/2" exhaust pipe and connect the 2 hoses without any kinks.  I used the flex hose for the bottom hose.  You will see the hoses in the next few pictures.

The bottom hose runs right between the sway bar and oil pan.  Perfect fit.  That hose was from a 70 something Nova.

The piece of flex pipe I had laying around was from the 79 Monza that I bought for the buick swap.  Took me a while to find it.  I also connected this hose with the Nova hose with a piece of exhaust pipe.  Dave L. gave me this idea.

Here it is.  It's all in.  The exhaust manifolds are bolted on.  The fuel line is ran.  That's the little skinny shinny hose you see in the back there.  I did some modification to the air cleaner assembly.  Looks better and flows more air.

That little contraption of hoses is for the heater.  Since I do not have a heater I need to connect the two.
