Oldschool Cheese Quesadilla
Description: Before Taco Bell started making the brand new quesadillas we all know and love, they had these. This is a flour tortilla filled with cheddar cheese and Taco Bell's Green Sauce. My Opinion: Mild and delicious. The cheese and sauce go well together. Since the Green Sauce is back, you can make one of these fine snacks yourself! One more yummy Taco Bell food item for all you vegetarians out there.Oldschool Chicken Quesadilla Description: An Oldschool Cheese Quesadilla with chicken added. This was an advertised option. My Opinion: This is very good, and all you have to do to recreate this blast from the past is order a Soft Chicken Taco without the lettuce. The Green Sauce spices combined with the chicken seasonings is very enjoyable. The tender chicken texture is a nice finishing touch.Oldschool Beef Quesadilla Description: Here we go once again with the unofficial deliciousness... My Opinion: The sauce and beef seasonings compliment each other very well, even though the beef seasonings aren't as mild as the Green Sauce. Quite tasty, but the chicken version takes the cake.Oldschool Steak Quesadilla Description: Steak combined with another sauce that's green, but this time there's no lime! Good thing, too... My Opinion: ...because the Green Sauce is way tastier than the Lime Sauce. Very nice item. Still, the chicken version has this beat; it's the best by far.Chicken Quesadilla Description: The new line of Taco Bell Quesadillas is quite
different when compared to the oldschool one. Taco Bell takes a large tortilla, fills it with chicken,
the three cheese blend we all know and love plus a brand new creamy jalapeno sauce. The tortilla is then folded and grilled in the same
griddle that the Grilled Stuft Burrito is grilled in. Unlike the Grilled Stuft
Burrito, the Chicken Quesadilla is actually crispy.
SPECIAL NOTE: Recently, Taco Bell has been offering small cups of sour cream, guacamole and a special salsa to dip your Quesadilla in. My Opinion: If anything, it's interesting. Taco Bell claims that the best
part of this dish is the cheese. That's not true. The cheese is obviously nice
and is an integral part of the item, but the cream sauce is what will hold your
taste bud's undivided attention. It has a nice, creamy texture, not to mention
the spices are very good, but some people may not like how hot it is; in fact,
the sauce may be overpowering to some people who like tasting every ingredient
clearly in their food. It is actually second only to the Chili Cheese Burrito
in terms of hot 'n spicyness. The sauce is so bold and hot, it may hinder your
taste buds from being able to properly taste the rest of the food you bought.
I'm not saying you shouldn't try this, I think it's quite good actually, but I
do reccommend that you make sure to eat this after you've eaten everything else
for said reason. Oh, I almost forgot, the crispyness of the tortilla due to the
special grilling is a very nice touch.
As for the new dipping campaign, I tried all three dips. I never thought I'd ever say this, but I'm disappointed with Taco Bell for suggesting dipping the quesadilla. The sour cream doesn't go well with it, the guacamole doesn't go with it and the special salsa which seems to have been made specifically for this item doesn't go with it. There is enough spice and flavor in the cream sauce of the quesadilla...it just doesn't go with anything else. I highly recommend you just eat your Chicken Quesadilla (and beef and steak ones too) without any of these dips.
Margarita's Opinion: I I think the Taco Bell Quesadilla is the best. I have tried many
Qiesadillas befor in many resaurants but they cant compare to the Taco Bell.
The way it is presented is apealing to the eye and the taste is perfection.
Beef Quesadilla
Description: Beef, jalapeno sauce and three cheeses in the tortilla. Enough
said! My Opinion: This doesn't taste very different from the Chicken Quesadilla
due to the powerful cream sauce, but you can make out the beef enough to enjoy
the different meat and spices.Steak Quesadilla
Description: There's steak and cheese in this item, but it sure doesn't taste
like a steak and cheese! At the time I first ordered this, it was not an officially advertised item, but now it is. My Opinion: The previous Beef Quesadilla opinion mostly explains how I feel
about this one but also, the crispyness of the tortilla and the texture of the
steak go well together.Cheese Quesadilla (Regional Item, may not be at all locations) Description: No meat. Just the three cheese blend and sauce in the huge tortilla. My Opinion: Okay...the Cheese Quesadilla I have eaten had just the three cheese blend. This was good, but I always wondered why they didnt add the sauce. Low and behold, check out this email I got... Shannon's Discovery: I've noticed something weird about my favorite menu item, the Cheese
Quesadilla, when compared from one Taco Bell to the next, and thought
I'd pass on the info in case it was useful to your site. I've noticed
that some Taco Bells use the jalapeno cream/cheese sauce stuff (which
is what I think they're SUPPOSED to use), and it is absolutely yummy.
However, some Taco Bells seem to use plain melted cheese sauce instead,
like the same stuff you dip your nachos in, and it has wayyyyyyy less
flavor. I'm not sure why they do this, unless maybe the melted cheese
sauce is cheaper than the jalapeno sauce. However, I always avoid the
Taco Bells that use the inferior sauce, because it's really nowhere
near as good-- it's too bland once you're used to the jalapeno stuff.
I did actually get one restaurant near me to go back to the jalapeno
sauce after they switched to the awful melted cheese sauce, but most of
the time if I ask the Taco Bell employees about the sauce, they look at
me like I'm nuts. My guess is that the Taco Bells that don't use the sauce are the franchise owned ones and not the Yum! operated ones. For more information on why eating at a franchise owned TB isn't as good as a Yum! one, read my FAQ. More proof that Yum! does it right!Cheese Extreme Quesadilla Description: The very first Taco Bell item to have four cheeses, this tortilla is filled with the three cheese blend (cheddar, mozzarella and pepper jack) plus their creamy nacho cheese sauce. This is the only advertised version of the item. My Opinion: The four cheeses taste very nice together, but I think there should be something else in the quesadilla other than just cheese. Just like the normal Cheese Quesadilla, they should have put the jalapeno sauce in it to give it a nice kick. Marlaine's Opinion: Extreem cheese? Humpf! You get this half circle cut into four sections, right? Not one single grain of cheese either of the end slides. Yeah, there were a few lonely strands in the middle two pieces, but Only at the fold. Two bites with cheese and a whole lotta nekked tortilla.Beef Extreme Quesadilla Description: This tasty tidbit has all of the four cheeses plus Taco Bell's savory ground beef. My Opinion: This is very good! As always, the beef goes great with the nacho cheese. The other three cheeses makes things all the tastier! This is the best Extreme Quesadilla by far.Chicken Extreme Quesadilla Description: I sure hope those chicken pieces like to swim in cheese! My Opinion: Also good, but the spices of the beef go better with the four cheeses.Steak Extreme Quesadilla Description: Would you like some steak to go with your cheese? :) My Opinion: See the Chicken Extreme Quesadilla opinion above.Chicken Monterey Quesadilla Descriptopn: A quesadilla with chicken, normal monterey jack cheese and pepper jack cheese. My Opinion: This may not sound very special, but it's extremely good. The chicken texture and spices go so well with the cheeses it's not even funny. The hot spicyness is perfect as well. This line of quesadillas is hands down THE best!! SEAL OF APPROVAL!! Ah that felt good...it's been a long time since I've given one of these! :)Beef Monterey Quesadilla Description: Time for some yummy Monterey customization! My Opinion: Also extremely good! There was plenty of beef, so that the meat wasn't drowning in the cheese. There was enough meat in the others, but there was more in this one. SEAL OF APPROVAL!!!Steak Monterey Quesadilla Description: Philly is a little mad. :) My Opinion: This is the best one!! Everything in this quesadilla seems more balanced because of the steak flavors and juices. If you don't like hot food, this is the Monterey Quesadilla you should eat. SEAL OF APPROVAL!!.Chicken Grande Quesadilla Description: The same thing as a normal Chicken Quesadilla, but in a much thicker tortilla. My Opinion: No. Not good. The only reason this quesadilla is more filling is because of the thick, doughy bread that keeps me from tasting what's inside. The filling gets lost in there. You'd think they'd put more stuff in it because of the new bread, but no. The texture of the bread wasn't even enjoyable. Stick with the normal quesadillas, these aren't worth it at all.Steak Grande Quesadilla Description: "Heeeeelp!" said the steak chunks. "We can't breathe in here!!" My Opinion: Still too much bread. People who are cutting down on carbs need to stay FAAAAAR away from these things.Beef Grande Quesadilla Description: Another item advertised without a beef option. This time, thankfully, the cashier didn't give me a hard time when I asked for it... My Opinion: ...too bad the quesadilla was still pretty much unenjoyable.Double Beef Grande Quesadilla Description: That thick "Panadero" bread is back. Now it is filled with a double helping of beef, the three cheese blend and the Fire Roasted Salsa that debuted inside the Triple Burritos. My Opinion: The Fire Roasted Salsa is back!! YAAAAAY!!! I missed this sauce!!! Okay, Taco Bell FINALLY wised up and threw MORE MEAT into this thick-as-sin Panadero Bread. Now all the breadiness isn't as hard to tolerate! This tastes excellent because of the return of this awesome sauce (haha i said awesome sauce LOL), although I would still prefer thinner bread.Double Chicken Grande Quesadilla Description: Reeeeunited and it taaaastes so GOOOOD... My Opinion: Yeah, thoroughly delicious. Unfortunately, you will not be able to eat as much as you want because of all the wheat. Beef and Chicken are the best tasting.Double Steak Grande Quesadilla Description: Yup, steak. My Opinion: Not bad, but not as good as the first two. Ironically, this seems to be the only official version. Come on, guys, what, are you trying to phase out CHICKEN NOW!?!?!?!? o_OBACK TO TACO BELL MENU...
