Beef Crunch Wrap Supreme Description: This weirdly shaped piece of mexican food has beef, lettuce, tomato, nacho cheese, sour cream and a flat, circular corn shell wrapped up in a tortilla. My Opinion: It seems Taco Bell is kinda running out of new ideas at the moment. Don't get me wrong, this item is pretty tasty, but it's not a mindblowing new addition to the Taco Bell menu. One thing in this item's favor is that it's large; you get a very nice amount of food for the value. If you like Taco Bell's "classic tastes" a lot, then this will please you very much. Neal's Opinion: It is so good every thing goes with it
very good. I love the fold (that is kinda hard to
fold) but all and all it is good.Chicken Crunch Wrap Supreme Description: Taco Bell's chicken spices...now THAT'S a classic taste I like! My Opinion: This one tastes the best out of the three. The chicken, nacho cheeeeeeeese and sour creeeeeeeam are very delicious together.Steak Crunch Wrap Supreme Description: The item's name pretty much sums it up. My Opinion: They're all good, but if I had to compare the three, chicken is best, beef is second and this is third.Spicy Chicken Crunch Wrap Supreme Description: The Spicy Chicken made a triumphant return, but now Spicy Chicken is sadly discontinued (Thanks for the info Caitlyn!). My Opinion: This is friggin great!! The spicy chicken is delicious as always and the sour cream within helps keep it under control quite nicely. The nacho cheese sauce goes great with the chicken also, plus the tostada does a good job of absorbing the flavors of the spicy chicken sauce while still staying crispy enough to be enjoyable! Can you tell it's my favorite Crunch Wrap? Can you tell it GETS A SEAL!?!?7 Layer Crunch Wrap Description: This Crunch Wrap has beans, nacho cheese sauce, red sauce, red tortilla strips, sour cream, guacamole and tomatoes. My Opinion: Why Taco Bell puts tortilla strips in food items that soggify the strips with their heat, I will never know. That aside, it's very delicious! In particular, the nacho cheese sauce goes surprisingly well with the classic 7 Layer flavors.Beef Queso Crunch Wrap Description: This new Crunch Wrap has beef, nacho cheese sauce and the three cheese blend underneath the crunchy corn layer and fiesta salsa and CHEESY jalapeno sauce (not to be confused with the normal "creamy" jalapeno sauce) on top. My Opinion: WOW! Surprisingly delicious!! The crucial, key ingredient in this dish is the Fiesta Salsa. It keeps the heat of the jalapeno sauce from being too overwhelming and it compliments everything below quite seamlessly. These are my favorite Crunch Wraps ever! SEAL OF APPROVAL!!Chicken Queso Crunch Wrap Description: The complex, delicious flavors of this awesome dish are now enhanced by poultry instead of bovine! My Opinion: JUST as delicious as the beef!! Just a tip, try to have a bit of Fiesta Salsa in each bite when you eat this, otherwise the nacho chese sauce and cheesy jalapeno sauce will be pretty hot in your mouth by themselves. Still SEAL OF FLIPPIN APPROVAL!!Steak Queso Crunch Wrap Description: The Sultan of Spice now has Steak! My Opinion: You really can't go wrong with any of these...they're ALL awesome!! It's been a very long time since all three versions of a Taco Bell food item have all gotten SEALS OF APPROVAL!!!!! YAAAAYY!!!! :D (they really are THAT good!)Beef Mexican Pizza
Description: Definitely not like a normal pizza, but that's not a bad thing at all. Beef and beans are sandwiched between two flat, crunchy, fried flour tortillas. Then, that sandwich is topped with Taco Bell's special pizza sauce, a generous portion of Taco Bell's three cheese blend (cheddar, mozzarella, pepperjack), tomatoes and green onions. Finally, it's cooked in a special oven type thingy for a few seconds. My Opinion: Eeeeeexcelleeeent. The beef and beans combination is a nice,
familiar, tasty taste sensation that is geniusly accented by the delicious
toppings on...um...top. The special pizza sauce has a very interesting flavor, mixing italian flavors with mexican flavors. The gooey melted cheese is what ties everything together. Todd's Opinion: I have noticed a slight, sad decline in the sumptiousness and
wonderfulness that is the mexican pizza. When this culinary delight
first hit the stores, it was different (I humbly submit that it was
better.) in two significant ways: First, the toppings included olives. The olives added a nice contrast
to the cheeze and onion. The olives provided a unique texture that made
the mouth sing. One has to ask, why, oh why, did the great corporation
remove this small piece of flavor from the great mexican pizza? Second, the original mexican pizzas were sliced into four easy to eat
pieces. The stores were provided with a simply little knife device that
allowed the preparer to slice the pizza in two quick motions that took
less about a second. Instead of a large, unwieldly disc that the
customer must break into uneven bits, the original pizza was an elegant
experience of cheezy goodness. I love the mexican pizza. It's blend of flavors is wonderful. It's
concept sublime. But the mexican pizza is not what it once was. It's
crown--though still a crown--has a dent and some tarnish.Chicken Mexican Pizza
Description: "Whew," said the chunks of chicken. "It's getting
hot in this little cooking thingy. Oh well...this melted cheese is cumfy!" For some reason, the chicken is placed on top with all of the
toppings when you ask for this. My Opinion: This dish is also very good, but is juuuust slightly not as good
as the beef version IMO. The reason for this is because the three cheese blend actually masks the flavor of the chicken in this dish a little.Steak Mexican Pizza
Description: The steak is placed on top with all of the
toppings like on the Chicken Mexican Pizza. Steak doesn't sound like it would normally go well on
pizza... My Opinion: BUT IT SURE DOES ON THIS ITEM! When I first tried this, I was
surprised at how utterly delicious it was. The reason this is awesome is
because everything harmonizes virtually perfectly to create a mexican flavor of
utopian proportions. This is one of my favorite Taco Bell items; it's that good! Can you say SEAL
OF APPROVAL!? I know that you can!Beef Taco Salad
Description: A crunchy fried flour tortilla dish is filled with beef, lettuce, tomato, cheddar cheese and sour cream,
then green onions are sprinkled on top. A special chunky tomato
salsa is given to you on the side. My Opinion: The salsa is quite tangy, and makes everything inside the salad
taste interesting. Being able to eat the bowl is also an interesting twist.
Sadly, this item is pretty expensive and isn't very filling. An order of Mucho
Grande Nachos is actually slightly cheaper than this. It's worth trying once,
but I don't see myself getting it again due to the price.Chicken Taco Salad
Description: Sit down sit down sit down chicken you're rocking the (crunchy flour) boat! LOL, did I just sing a song from the musical Guys and Dolls?
Perhaps I need to go lie down... My Opinion: This is easily the best Taco Salad out of all of them, due to
the fact that there is a nice amount of chicken inside. Still, you can get a
lot of chicken in other items and pay a lot less. If you actually do get this,
you might not want to put the salsa on if you want to taste the Taco Bell
Chicken in its pure form; it masks the chicken flavor significantly.Steak Taco Salad
Description: Carne Asada meets tangy salsa. A match made in heaven? My Opinion: Not quite heaven, but the steak and salsa actually do taste good
together; it is highly recommended that you add the salsa in this, if you feel
like splurging.Fiesta Taco Salad Description: The exact same thing as a normal Taco Salad but with lime flavored corn strips and a slightly different sauce. My Opinion: Normally I'd eat one with beef, one with chicken and one with steak, but I didn't bother this time because there really isnt that much that's different about this item...in fact, everything about the *item* is the same, it's just the condiments that are different. The lime strips didnt go really well with anything inside. They made the entire dish too sweet; The strips are speckled with sugar crystals. The new sauce wasnt that much different from the original, but it was a decent improvement. They made it more spicy for the most part. It also seems to have a more even consistency, instead of big chunks of tomato swimming in liquid. The tanginess of the first Taco Salad sauce is still there, so people who liked the original will still be at home with this, more or less. If you get this, I recommend you use the sauce on the salad and save the strips to eat by themselves as a desert...they actually taste pretty nice if you eat them that way. Taco Bell IMO should make a new desert by flavoring nacho chips like this. I'd buy it.
Ultimately though, my opinion of the Taco Salad hasn't really changed. It's too much cash for the mediocrity. Sadly, this reminds me of when Taco Bell let you have different dips for the Quesadillas. I guess they're strapped for new ideas at the moment.
Beef Fully Loaded Taco Salad Description: Take a Taco Salad, remove the green onions, add lime strips, rice and beans, then choose one of the two new sauces (either ranch or chipotle) and you have this item. My Opinion: Okay, I decided to splurge this time and get all three...I'm glad I did. This thing is customization city!! Now, none of the salads taste that interesting without the new sauces obviously, so I tried each salad with each sauce, not to mention I tried combining both sauces together in all three. The ranch sauce makes this taste quite good, the chipotle sauce makes it taste even better, but adding BOTH makes it taste AWESOME!! This salad is the best one out of the three because you really can't go wrong no matter which sauce combination you decide to use. Blah blah this is unofficial Taco Bell is stupid for not making it official blah blah. Oh, the lime strips don't really taste that good in this salad at all. So yeah this is very tasty, although still kinda expensive, but if you feel like trying it, seriously go for this one and ask for both sauce packets!!Chicken Fully Loaded Taco Salad Description: This item is advertised with the ranch sauce only... My Opinion: ...and I can see why. The ranch sauce makes this salad taste very good, whereas the chipotle makes it taste eh. Combining them is nice, but your best bet is to try this with just the ranch if you want it. The strips weren't as bad in this salad, if you like lime flavor in your food then try them here.Steak Fully Loaded Taco Salad Description: This is advertised with the chipotle sauce only... My Opinion: ...and I have no idea why. The ranch sauce goes better with this salad than the chipotle. This salad was the least good out of the three, even with the ranch. If you like lime strips, you may like them here, although I think they are most at home with the chicken.Beef Enchirito
Description: Yes, the name means that this item is a cross between an enchilada
and a burrito. A burrito with beef, beans and onions is topped, not stuffed,
with Red Sauce (has a nice tangy and spicy, but not too spicy taste) and cheddar cheese. This is then put in the little oven thingy
that the Mexican Pizza is cooked in. My Opinion: This is very innovative and very good. Why do I use the word
innovative? The red sauce and melted cheddar cheese form a thick, flavorful
sauce that goes great with the simple yet delicious burrito it covers.Chicken Enchirito
Description: The chicken gets to rest cozily, tucked under it's Red Sauce and cheddar
blanket. My Opinion: Also nice. The melted cheese and chicken go great together
especially.Steak Enchirito
Description: Gooey and steaky. Also tasty. My Opinion: Since the red sauce is mixed with the cheddar cheese, the
authentic red sauce/steak taste isn't quite here, but it's good nonetheless. As
always, steak and beans go great together.Beef MexiMelt
Description: A Soft Taco tortilla filled with beef, Fiesta Salsa (tomatoes, onions, cilantro and delicious special spices) and the three
cheese blend, once again cooked in the little oven thingy. This is no longer
made; only the Big Meximelts are made now. Today, no matter if you ask for a
MexiMelt or a Big Beef MexiMelt, you always get a Big Beef MexiMelt. Oh well,
saying Big Beef sound cooler anyway, hehe. :) About a year ago, Taco Bell said
that the MexiMelt was filled with three cheeses and something called Pico de
Gallo. I have eaten MexiMelts back when they said there was Pico de Gallo in
it, plus recently when they started saying that there is Fiesta Salsa in them.
I have heard from some people that only the name changed and that Fiesta Salsa
and Pico de Gallo are the exact same thing. Since the taste of the MexiMelt has
not changed at all aside from meat amount, it seems very much that this is
true. My Opinion: This now discontinued item was good. In this normal MexiMelt,
there was more cheese than beef. This isn't a bad thing, though. It was
interesting to taste a meat accenting the cheese for a change, instead of the
cheese usually accenting the meat. The Fiesta Salsa added a very nice tang to
the cheese. It wasn't filling, but was a nice side item to get.Chicken MexiMelt
This was quite popular when it first came out. It's not surprising; chicken and
melted cheese are good no matter what country's cuisine you are eating! :) My Opinion: Very nice! All of the spices of the chicken and salsa formed a
nice blend of flavor, which the melted cheeses only made taste even better. The
cheese wasn't center stage here like it was with the Beef MexiMelt; everything
got a chance in the spotlight. This was my favorite side items to get, and now
that I think about it, it's the discontinued item I miss the most. To honor
it's past greatness, it gets a SEAL OF APPROVAL!Steak Meximelt
Description: An interesting combination of spices gets melted together now. My Opinion: The Fiesta Salsa and Carne Asada spices were nice together. They
kept each other in check, the steak spices being slightly hot, the Fiesta Salsa
being mild and slightly sweet. As always, Taco Bell used the melted cheeses to
make this an enjoyable unique item.Big Beef MexiMelt
Description: Now we come to the still living descendant of the normal MexiMelt.
Fiesta Salsa, three cheeses and twiiiice the beeeef. Meximelts are now made slightly differently. The Fiesta Salsa is applied *after* everything else is cooked. My Opinion: Now the cheese is there to make the beef taste better, as usual.
This is *much* better than the normal version! The Fiesta Salsa adds a sweet
tang to the extra beef, which was a flavor not possible before because there
wasn't enough beef to tang, hehe. Now that the Fiesta Salsa is put on after the rest is cooked, the flavor of the Salsa stands out more and is able to accentuate everything even better than it did bfore! Since this larger version of the MexiMelt is
so much better tasting and more satisfying, it gets a SEAL OF APPROVAL!Big Chicken MexiMelt
Description: A lot more chicken means a lot more melt in your mouth taste. My Opinion: Both versions of this tasted awesome, and I am very glad that
this is still alive. Everything in this blends just as well as the original,
even though there is more chicken. Still tastes awesome and much more filling.
SEAL OF APPROVAL!Big Steak MexiMelt
Three cheeses, Fiesta Salsa and twice the steak. Nuff said. My Opinion: Once again, the Fiesta Salsa and steak spices maintain a nice
equilibrium in this item; the cheese is also still good. I like this, but it's
not quite as good as the other two.Tostada (Regional Item, may not be at all locations)
Description: This consists of one flat crunchy corn tortilla (not to be confused with the fried flour tortilla used when making Mexican Pizzas) topped with beans, Red Sauce, cheddar
cheese and a LOT of lettuce. This is not cooked in the small oven thingy like
the Mexican Pizza. My Opinion: Talk about simple deliciousness! This doesn't sound like much,
but it's actually a great appetizer! The generous amount of crispy lettuce is
very nice and the yummy flavors of the beans, Red Sauce and cheddar are
familiar and tasty! SEAL OF APPROVAL o ramaaaa!Beefy Tostada Description: The same as a Tostada, but with beef added. Haven't tried it yet, but if you have, talk to me!Chicken Tostada Description: This is one of the first items made when Taco Bell first started using their awesome chicken in their dishes. A tortilla topped with beans, chicken, Green Sauce (go to the sauces section of the menu for more info on that), lettuce, tomatoes, cheese and sour cream. Haven't tried it yet, but if you have, talk to me!Pintos and Cheese
Description: Another appetizer, this is a small bowl of Taco Bell's deliciously
flavored beans, mixed with Red Sauce and topped with melted cheddar cheese. My Opinion: A nice addition to any Taco Bell meal. You can control the
amount of cheese you eat with the beans because the cheese melts and solidifies
into a layer, which can be broken with your spoon. I myself also like pouring
this on a Tostada. The beans and Red Sauce mixed tastes different than if they
are just slapped next to each other; it's nice. :)Mexican Rice
Description: A small bowl of the same seasoned rice found in the 7 Layer and
other burritos. My Opinion: This is pretty tasty by itself. Not bad to get at all if you
want to see what it tastes like alone.Cheesy Fiesta Potatoes
Description: With the introduction of potatoes comes a menu item solely made for the potatoes. This is a little cup, a bit wider than the pintos and cheese cup, and its filled with potatoes topped with nacho cheese, sour cream, and green onions. Just so everyone knows, Taco Bell's sour cream has gelatin, which is an animal biproduct, so vegetarians that don't want to consume this should hold the sour cream or not get it. My Opinion: These potatoes ROCK. Crispy, tasty, great texture...kinda like diner homefries mexican style. The condiments actually detract from the potatoes; I'd rather just have their natural flavor. SEAL OF FRICKIN APPROVAL (for the actual potatoes, not this complete dish). :D Jon's opinion: This has replaced the nachos as my new side with everything! I eat it with a fork so I don't get the sour cream and stuff on me, but I see people eating them like french fries. The sour cream and nacho cheese go EXCELLENT with the potato flavor, and it makes you want more. The only gripe with this is that it is a little too small, but at 99 cents, I can deal.Bell Beefer Description: Basically a Taco Bell Taco, but with a hamburger bun instead of a crunchy corn shell. Discontinued, but here is a review from a very loyal Bell Beefer fan! Nancy's Opinion: The Bell Beefer was originally called the Bell Burger, then for some reason they changed the name. They were delicious! I would always order them with cheese, onions, lettuce and tomatoes, then put some mild sauce on. I was so upset when they discontinued them and have heard rumors through the years that they are going to bring them back, but, alas, they haven't.Caramel Apple Empanada Description: A new dessert on the Value Menu. Piping hot apples in a caramel sauce sealed within a glazed empanada. My Opinion: Other fast food places must be TREMBLING, because this desert COMPLETELY ERRADICATES all those stupid apple pie deserts you get at other places. The shell is crispy, the glaze is sweet and tasty and adds to the crispiness, the insides are appley, caramelly, smooth creamy and chunky. It's really freaking awesome. APPROVAL IS HEREBY SEALED. Jon's Opinion: Once you try this for dessert, you'll forget cinamon twists even existed! These are supremely excellent if you get them right out of the fryer, when they are still really hot. It is very sweet and fullfilling. I have 2 gripes with this though. First, sometimes there isn't enough apple and too much carmel sauce. Each empanada is different, its kinda weird, sometimes I get a ton of apple, sometimes I get barely any. Secondly, there are what I call "duds". These are empanadas with NOTHING at all inside them, a defect. I've gotten 2 of these in my visits to taco bell, and each time a manager gladly replaced them for me. Not a problem, and definatly worth the minimal risk for such a righteous dessert!Cinnamon Twists
Description: One of Taco Bell's two deserts, these are exactly what their name
insinuates; cinnamon flavored twisted crunchies. My Opinion: Another Taco Bell item I relate to a similar greek food, these
taste kind of like Lokumades (sp?) but don't have syrup like Lokumades. Very
nice to finish your Taco Bell feast with!Choco Taco
Description: These aren't actually made by Taco Bell...they're made by the same company that makes Klondike bars. It's
a waffle cone shell filled with vanilla ice cream, which is then topped with a
casing of chocolate syrup and peanuts. My Opinion: I like how they use the chocolate as a casing so no ice cream
spills out one side. It's a nice ice cream novelty. Also, it's available at
places other than Taco Bell, so if you want to have something that reminds you
of Taco Bell, you can just go to a place that sells ice cream novelties.
Cinnamon Crispas Description: Before Cinnamon Twists, there were these. Deep fried nachos covered with cinnamon and brown sugar. Sadly, this was before my time, but we have someone who can turn back the clock for us! Sty's Opinion: Ah yes cinnamon crispas...I had them quite a few times. They were probably the lightest (weight) taco bell item ever offered, and cinnamon and sugar made for a good desert. They were the same shape and size as a standard tortillia chip and the spice coating was alot like sand, if too much was sprinkled on..often)Mini Churros Description: Also an ancestor to the Cinnamon Twists, these were mini churros covered in cinnamon and brown sugar. Sadly, this was before my time, but if you ate them way back when, tell the tale!Steak Grilled Taquitos Description: Two tiny tortillas filled with steak and cheddar, grilled like a Stuft Burrito. Served with choice of guacamole, sour cream or salsa, just like the Quesadillas. This is the advertised version. My Opinion: Nothing special, really. The tastiest thing about these things is the fact that because they're small, they get real crispy under the grill and the crispy tortilla contributes a nice flavor. Other than that, it's just meat and cheddar. The sour cream doesn't do much to make it better and neither does the guacamole. The Taco Bell I tried these at didn't have the salsa, but I tried it before on a quesadilla and it wasn't good then, so unless they revised the salsa majorly since then, it's still not worth using. I also got myself a side of pepperjack sauce (now called Baja Sauce by the employees). THAT sauce makes these things taste very nice. Then again, Taco Bell's awesome pepperjack sauce makes everything taste nice. I recommend you either eat these with pepperjack sauce or plain, since if you eat it plain you can taste the crispy tortilla better anyway. If you want to try these, don't expect anything amazing, but since they're inexpensive, they're good for a quick snack, I suppose.Chicken Grilled Taquitos Description: :: said in an Elite Beat Agent voice :: Unofficial Meat Change is...GO!!! My Opinion: Eh. Tastes best with pepperjack sauce or by itself, just like the steak version.Beef Grilled Taquitos Description: Now it has beef. My Opinion: I like these the best out of the three since pepperjack sauce and Taco Bell's beef are a perfect pair. Unofficial meat with unofficial sauce. You'd think that Taco Bell would take a lesson from me.Cheese Roll-Up Description: A small tortilla with the three cheese blend melted inside. This item is put in the steamer before serving (Thanks for the info Caitlyn!). My Opinion: I thought this was not going to be anything special, but that actually changed when I bit into it. This is a very nice way to just taste the three cheese blend by itself; it's got a lot of flavor even when there isn't anything else around! Also, I found the perfect use for this little gem. It's very handy for sopping up excess sauces!!! I need to get myself an Enchirito and clean the dish with this item!! :DSpicy Chicken Enchiladas Description: Right now they're only available in this platter thingy, but you get two enchiladas filled with spicy chicken and topped with red sauce, the three cheese blend and a dollop of sour cream on top. Spicy Chicken is discontinued (Thanks for the info Caitlyn!). My Opinion: These are actually quite delicious. The thing that really makes this dish is the sour cream on top, which makes everything meld together in this mellow harmony, not to mention it keeps the spicy chicken in check. Oh, the platter sucks...the tray is huge but it doesn't give you much food. I hope they offer these enchiladas by themselves soon, that would rock.BACK TO TACO BELL MENU...
