Welcome to the official Sportrock Junior Team website. The Sportrock Junior Team is the official junior team of the Sportrock gym in Alexandria, Virginia. The Sportrock Junior Team is a rock-climbing team that competes in competitions and has practices for kids to get better skills at rock climbing. The Sportrock Junior Team is over 5 years old, and has been very sucessful over the past years. To the left are all the members of the Wednesday team, which is explained below. The Sportrock Junior Team in Alexandria, VA, has 3 teams. The Monday team, the Wednesday team, and the Saturday team. The differences are that the Saturday team is for people that have never rock climbed before, and would like to learn the basics. The Monday team is for people who find the Saturday team too easy for them, but cannot lead yet, and are below the level of 5.10. Finally, the Wednesday team is the advanced team. The Wednesday team is for climbers that already know how to lead, that can onsite 5.10, and for climbers who wish to compete in national and regional competitions. Below is the schedule for the Wednesday team:
SportRock holds 2 free tryouts for Junior Team every year, one in March, one in September. However, if you want to join the team at another time, you have to call 703-212-ROCK and inquire about the informal Saturday tryouts that are held on the first Saturday of every month.

Every Saturday, the Wednesday team goes outdoor climbing to WV, or VA. We usually go the whole day, and come back at night. For information on the outdoor trinps, please click here to get a list of when and where where we go outdoors. So far we have been to the New River Gorge [WV], Franklin [WV], and Coopers [WV].
