Breakdance Moves A
Aerial Cartwheel
an aerial is just a cartwheel done with no hands so you should
learn how to do a very smooth and fast cartwheel before
attempting an aerial. many people claim that you should learn the
one handed cartwheel also, but the aerial and the one handed
cartwheel are totally different.
1) you have to learn how to do a cartwheel: first, lift your left
leg and raise your arms up in a ready position. Bend downwards
and place your left foot on the ground. Now bend down more and
place your left palm down in front of your left foot. Now raise
your right leg which should be in back of you into the air. After
that put your right palm down in a line with your left palm and
left foot and finally raise your left leg and bring it above you.
As your left leg goes up, your right leg should be landed or
about to land. The farther apart your legs are the better it will
look. While landing your left leg, bring your arms up also. Your
final position should face opposite the direction to as you
started.
2) Keep practicing your cartwheel until it is very smooth and you
can land it very lightly. After a while if you do it extremely
fast you should feel a popping up movement when u land. Always
try to compact your cartwheel also. In order to do an aerial,
your cartwheel has to be very compact and cant be very wide. As
you master your cartwheel, try kicking inwards at the end when
you bring your legs up. When you feel a popping movement, you can
try the aerial.
3) The aerial is jus a cartwheel except your hands aren't
supporting you, momentum is. When you first try you should get a
running start, but after a while u can do standing aerials which
jus look so beautiful. After a short run jump onto the floor,
left leg outward and with your left leg, jump straight upwards
while bending sideways and lifting your right leg. You should be
in midair now and bring the left leg over also. You should try to
land lightly and inward, not outwards. The two most important
secrets of doing an aerial is remembering to keep it compact, not
wide and that the jump is upwards not forward.
Air Swipe
Start from the top do a half flare and kick your left high in the
air while your right should through too u should land on your
left with your right up do more by twisting your arms fast
towards the foot u have up.
Air Turtles
Arms must be straight, hands placed shoulder width apart, legs
must be bent and curled behind you ! Try to walk in circles to
really make it look better !
Airborne
It's like a somersault with a nip-up of kick-up to end it.
you have to be able to do a kick-up well to do this.
ok, you stand with your legs about 1.5 shoulder widths apart and
put your left hand flat on the floor infront of you, now lean
over roll forwards.
keep your left arm straight, and as you're rolling over pull your
right arm against your chest. By this point all your weight
should be on your right shoulder, and your feet should lift off
the ground.
Your arms should be beside your head on the floor , like your
going to do a kick-up. The key to this is, is that your legs dont
touch the ground. When your legs follow your body after you've
rolled over, they crunch up against your chest like a kick-up.
Then you use almost all arm power to push yourself up onto your
feet, dont kick your feet out like you do a kick-up, just use
your arms.
When you've got it, it should look like a somersault to the right
and then you pop up off the ground as soon as you roll over.
Airplanes
windmills with your arms straight spread out to the sides as high as you can get them.
Airtrack
Alight here are the instructions for a move called the
airtrack (which in my opinion is one of the hardest and most
spectacular moves in breakdancing!)
to perform the airtrack it's best that you can perform multiple
flares and windmills with ease...the reason you need to be able
to do this is because an airtrack is basically a windmill in
midair and you will need the flare to perform before the airtrack
to gain momentum...(its almost impossible to do the airtrack by
itself...most of the time you will want to perform a
flare~airtrack combo)
this is for counter clockwise flares and airtracks
start off by doing half of a flare...when you do this you should
be in the back part of the flare with you hands on the ground in
front of you and your legs spread apart behind you...now kick
your right leg up and to your left behind you in a circular
motion...at the same time look to your right (very
important!)...right after you look to your right kick your left
foot under your right foot (like doing a windmill except your
body is off the ground)...when you twist too far to keep your
hands on
the ground swing your right hand around behind you...as soon as
you lift your right hand give a very hard kick with your right
leg going up and left and your left leg going under it (just like
before...picture the motion for a windmill)...a millisecond after
you let go of the ground with your right hand let go with your
left hand (you have to make sure that it is a millisecond after
you let go with your
right hand...if you let go with both hands at once you will just
fall to the ground)...when you lift your left hand you should now
be in the air with your back facing the ground and your legs open
like you were doing a windmill...as soon as you see the ground
(that's why I told you it was important to look to your
right...so you can see the ground when you come back over) put
your right hand down...then put your left hand down...you should
now be in the position that you started the move
in...from here you can go into windmills or another flare...
the most important thing when you do this move is to make sure
that you stay about 45 degrees to the ground...if you go too high
up you will land on your head instead of hand and if you go too
low you will land on your back or your stomach...another tip is
to make sure that you keep you legs open...if you close your legs
you will spin more than you want to and land on your back...
some variations to this move:
double airtrack- an airtrack where instead of keeping your legs
open you close them and spin around twice before catching your
self on your hands.
other variations- an airtrack is basically just a windmill in the
air so any variations on a windmill can probably be used for an
airtrack (like nutcrackers, genies, sumos etc. etc.) just make
sure you land on your hands in the end or you could hurt your
self pretty bad...
damn well I know this description is long but I hope I helped
some of you out there learn this move...and I know it sounds
confusing but its not too confusing once you try it...just be
warned that this move is VERY hard and it will take you at LEAST
2 months to learn it...if you don't get it the first few times
you try it don't get frustrated just try it again...you'll get
the hang of it sooner than you know it...

Apple Jax
Apple Jax r some really ill moves that have about 4 different
variations. They r very easy, but need some practice, and it is
almost impossible to hurt yourself doing them. They can also be
mixed in with your footwork.
Two-Handed 1-Foot AppleJax:
1) U start in a crouching position, on your toes hands about 3
inches off the ground.
2) Then u kick back as hard as u can with (left or right foot)
and simultaneously put your fingertips on the floor beside your
hips. U wanna try to hit the top of your thighs against your
chest.
3) As u kick your feet back down (as hard as u can) bring ur
chest forward and land back like u started in step 1.
Two-Handed 2-Foot AppleJax: Kinda Like A V-Kick
1) Start in crouch
2) Jump a little bit back with both feet and simultaneously put
your fingertips on the floor. (go back as much as u can, don't be
afraid because u will have your hands to catch u)
3) Right after the top of your thighs hit your chest,
simultaneously kick them forward and lean your chest forward so u
r back to step 1.
One-Handed 1-foot AppleJax:
1) Start in a crouch
2) Kick back with your left or right leg and use only your left
or right hand (the same one u kicked with) to pun on the floor.
3) As u kick forward, use the hand that's not on da ground and
swing it forward to help u back onto your feet.
One-Handed 2-foot AppleJax:
1) Start in a crouch
2) Jump back a little and kick with both feet and try to hit them
against your chest. (U have to lean on the side of which arm u r
using. Example: if u use your right arm, lean to your right.)
3) Do like a 1-handed "suck-it" motion with your free
hand for style.
4) As u kick your feet back forward, push forward wit your arms
to help u back up into a crouching position.
